The 3rd floor Common Room Thursday Evening 9/14

Lavender is cooking up a storm. It had all started when she decided it was her turn to cook after all the free food she’d eaten in the common rooms since she arrived in Fandom. But it looks like she got a little carried away.

On the table is a tray piled with Cornish pasties, a large bowl of mashed potatoes, a plate of fried tomatoes, another bowl filled with peas and carrots, a roast chicken and a pitcher of gravy. She was just leaning down to take out a vegetable casserole and then she was going to put in the Spotted Dick She hoped she'd made enough.

She’d also set out a large pitcher of pumpkin juice.

Damnit I left the fudge in my room! she thought to herself, wiping her hands on her apron.

"More people I haven't met yet," Peter noted to himself. "Hi there. And hi to the food."

Lavender laughed. "Hi I'm Lavender and this is food."

"Hi. Peter Parker. Pleased to meet both of you," Peter joked. "Is there a special occasion for the feast?"

"I was bored." Lavender grinned. "Where you from?"

"New York, born and bred," Peter said. "Probably not the New York you know, though. Funny dimensional issues and such. How about you? That accent tells me that you're probably not a Virginia local."

Lavender grinned at him. "I grew up in London... I'm witch and it's 1996 at home."

"Oh, so you're another one of the kids with wacky time issues," Peter said. "I'm from the present, but I am a superhero, so that strangeness in my background helps me keep from feeling like an outcast."

"What's a super hero?" Lavener looks interested.

"It's the common term in my world for a person who has special powers and beats up criminals," Peter explained.

"Ah everyone in my world does magic but there are people who are special... we don't have a special word for it. What are your special powers?"

"I'm strong, fast, and can stick to walls. Watch out one day and you might see me reading on the side of the building," Peter said.

"Wow that's pretty cool! Doesn't all the blood rush to your head?"

"You get used to it after a while," Peter said, smiling. "And then it doesn't bother you anymore."

"Well I spose it's true that I've never had to get used to it." she grinned at him. "How'd you end up in Fandom?"

"The normal way. My aunt thought my old school was negatively influencing my ability to learn because of insane things that went on there like supervillain attacks and the media, so she sent me here thinking it would be better," Peter said. "I haven't told her differently."

"Sometimes it's easier to not be the only one that's different." Lavender observed.
