Third Floor Common Room, Saturday Evening

After finishing her homework for the week, Dawn went to the common room and decided to indulge herself. She had a bowl of rainbow sherbet and was flipping through channels.

Oooh, kittens! Or, well, lions, but baby ones. She watched happily, although an occasional "awww, kitty..." escaped.

"Do you?" Buffy studied her, looking for guilt and woe. Apparently she found some because she smiled. "Well, okay then! But you owe me ice cream. And I want my shoe back. And the stick."

"What kind do you want?" Dawn asked immediately, "and I'll be right back."

She got up and ran to her room, gathered up both shoes, the stick, and a tennis ball, and put them into a spare bag that zipped closed, which she then presented to Buffy.

Buffy took the bag and opened it. She grinned. Yay shoe! Normally a chewed on shoe wouldn't please her this much, but it was her shoe. "And I want chocolate chip cookie dough."

Dawn got up obediently and went to look. "There's triple fudge brownie mocha, but I don't see any chocolate chip cookie dough," she said, with her head still stuck in the fridge. "Chocolate raspberry truffle, too."

Dawn saw a number of trips to All and Sundries for ice cream in her future. "Here," she said, returning with a bowl of ice cream, a napkin, and a spoon. "And I'll be around tomorrow for the laundry delivery."
