Third Floor Common Room, Saturday Evening

After finishing her homework for the week, Dawn went to the common room and decided to indulge herself. She had a bowl of rainbow sherbet and was flipping through channels.

Oooh, kittens! Or, well, lions, but baby ones. She watched happily, although an occasional "awww, kitty..." escaped.

Buffy was looking for someone to attack beg plead convince to go with her to the dance. But if she couldn't find that, then kittens were totally a good substitute. "Oh my god, how cuuuute!"

Dawn grinned and waved. "Aren't they? I kind of want to take one home, until I remember that they eat people. There's sherbet."

Buffy ploped down next to her. "Yay, sherbet." She lowered her voice. "Dawn? I need a date. I was a puppy, I don't know the gossip. Give me gossip." She sounded very intense about it.

After the assembly and realizing he'd been reclusive this week, Ray wandered down to the common room.

He waved at the others.

Dawn waved back. "Hi! Ray, right?"

"Yep," Ray said and nodded. "How's it going?"

Buffy waved back vaguely.

"Don't think we've met yet," Ray said. "I'm Ray from Chicago. I haven't seen any of the weird things at this school yet but I've heard about them."

Alec wandered into the common room looking for something interesting going on, as you do. "Hey, what's going on in here?"

"Kitties!" Dawn gestured towards the lions on the screen. "Aren't they cute?"

"Awww, little killing machines," Alec said, cocking his head at the TV.

"Alec!" Buffy threw herself at him. Not that she was desperate or anything. "You don't think I'm hideous, right?"

"Whoa!" Alec caught her, hands at her waist to carefully hold her back from knocking him over, eyes widening. "Hideous? Not particularly, no."

Dean grinned at his double. "So what have you been up to lately?"

Fresh back from an afternoon off the island with his Dad, Dean stowed the things he bought in his room and then went looking for where the people were. The answer seemd to be the third floor common room and he wandered in with a cheery, "Hey guys. What's up?"

"Lion cubs!" Dawn answered cheerfully. "Did you just wake up?"

"Hi Dean!" Buffy waved, and tried to remember if she'd licked him anywhere inapropriate.

After not finding Dawn in their room, Sam wandered down to the common room to see if she, or anyone else was there.

"Sam!" Dawn spotted him and walked over quickly. She stretched up on tiptoe so she could whisper in his ear. "I told Buffy about the dance."

Buffy pointed a spoon of ice cream at him and frowned deeply. "Treat my almost sister good or I'll use this spoon - or a rustier one - and carve out your insides and then I'll get inventive."

"Hey Sammy!" Dean greeted his brother. "You missed a great afternoon. Dad was being generous with the car keys."

Aeryn had started to go out for a while, then realized she hasn't been in a common room in a while. And since she doesn't currently want to kill anything, she finds herself one the third floor.
