Fifth Floor Common Room - Sunday Evening

Marie was humming along to the radio as she baked cookies. She and Jamie had had a good date the night before and she had spent the day doing some online shopping.

Now she felt like being social and the cool weather had her in the mood to bake, so here she was. She'd brought her portable CD player with her and was listening to upbeat country music, dancing her way around the kitchen.

"I think you're right," Peter agreed. He grinned. "You're Summer, right? I'm Peter Pevensie."

"Yep, I'm Summer," she confirmed. "Nice to meet you, Peter. Officially, I mean."

"Nice to officially meet you as well," he said. "And it keeps surprising me that there are still people I've not met."

"I admit. I haven't been getting out as much as I should," Summer said. "But I'm trying to be better about that."

"Oh, no, I didn't mean that it was your fault," Peter replied quickly. He smiled. "I think it's just a big enough school. How are you liking Fandom so far?"

"I didn't think you were implying that, don't worry," Summer assured, also smiling. "I like it so far. I haven't wanted to run away screaming yet, so I think that's a good sign."

Peter laughed. "Over a month and no impulse to swim off the island? Sounds like a good sign to me, definitely."

"It's definitely different...in a good way. Although I haven't experienced an invasion or anything, yet."

"It's been awfully quiet this term," Peter agreed. "I'm sure we'll make it up soon enough. Are you from a place where magic and aliens and all that is normal?"

"I'm from California, 2003," Summer replied. "There's isn't anything supernatural that I'm aware of. California is weird enough as it is, though."

Peter laughed. "People keep telling me that though I've never been to California. Are you from Hollywood?"

"Not quite," Summer said. "I'm from Newport Beach. It's somewhat close to LA."

"This and Washington DC are the only places I've been to in the States," Peter said. "I'd love to visit California and see the Pacific Ocean. Willow's from there as well."

"The Pacific Ocean really is beautiful. I hope you get to see it," Summer said. "I haven't met Willow yet."

"Me too," he agreed. He smiled. "I'm sure you'll like her. She's lovely."

Summer noticed Peter's smile. "Is Willow someone special to you?"

Peter grinned. "She's my girlfriend. So I might possibly be biased."

Summer smiled. "That's so nice. So I'm guessing you're going to Homecoming with her?"

"Definitely," Peter said. "Are you going to Homecoming?"

Summer nodded. "I'm going with Shawn."

"Shawn's a good man," Peter agreed. He grinned. "Has he been threatened yet?"

"Not yet, as far as I know," Summer replied, amused.

Peter nodded. "He'll have to be. It's tradition. I'll be sure to do so next time I see him."

Summer couldn't help it when she laughed. "Well, since it's tradition and all, who am I to argue?"

Peter grinned at her. "Exactly. How can one stand in the way of such a tradition?"
