Second Floor Common Room - Later Sunday Evening

The Common Room had been hung with bright streamers and different glittery signs. One big banner was across the far wall of the room saying "WE SURIVIVED" in big block letters.

There was several different varieties of food below the banner from Chinese to pizza to sandwiches to chips and dip and vegetables along with a big cake from J, GOB with a blue and yellow gremlin on it.

Music was playing, and an air of general celebration - or was it relief - pervaded the room.

[OOC: After all the parents, guardians, journey guides, and other assorted relatives and friends have left the island. Minor OCD ~~coming up~~ is up]

"It feels like it's been a long weekend," Peter replied. "My little brother was here and I'd forgotten how...trying he can be when we don't have more important things to do."

"I've heard that about little brothers. He get a chance to meet Willow?"

"Oh yes," Peter replied. "I wasn't expecting any of them to come by. I didn't think the invitation could get to my home. So it was a bit of a shock."

"That must have been a nice surpirse, though. You don't have much contact with home do you?" Lavender asked.

"Almost none at all," Peter said. "I'd not heard anything from them since I was home in early July."

"Oh wow. That must be hard." Lavender frowned.

Peter shrugged. "One gets used to it. And...the time between here and there is odd. I was at home for two months, but it was only four days here."

"And I thought it was weird that it's ten years earlier at home." Lavender breathed.

"I don't think time makes any sense here," Peter replied with a smile. "But I was awfully happy I wasn't gone for two months to the people here."

"Can you predict how the time works between here and your home?" Lavender wondered.

"Perhaps," Peter said, shrugging. "I spent two months here, and it had been 3 days at home. Two months there, four days here. Ed said it had been about a week since then. There doesn't seem to be too much logic."

Lavender made a face. "That would freak me out. I mean you don't know if a huge amoutn of time is gonna pass with you gone." Lavender Brown: tactless.

Peter smiled. "It was pretty awful being at home for two months and thinking that Will - that everybody had probably thought I'd abandoned them."

"I'll bet Willow missed you even if it was just a few days."

"Yes, she said she did," Peter replied, ducking his head.

Lavender giggled. "Has anyone ever told you that you're the perfect British gentleman? To a fault, really." Her tone was teasing.

Peter wrinkled his nose at her. "Passive, imbecilic, and over-involved in cricket and hunting?"

Lavender laughed. "Private, proper and respectful." She placed hand on his arm. "Plus you have that honorable knoight vibe... Willow is lucky to have you."

"I'm lucky to have her," Peter said, blushing a lot at the comment. "And thank you. I try to be all of those things."

Lavender laughed, though not unkindly. "So what did your borhter think of Willow and Fandom?"

"He liked Fandom, and I think he thought my Willow was a bit mad," Peter replied. He smiled. "Our family is a bit protective of each other. He'll get to know her better and it'll be fine."

"It's nice to have family." Lavender said. "I think most people will be glad to have things go back to normal. Whatever that is around here." She smiled.
