Second Floor Common Room - Later Sunday Evening

The Common Room had been hung with bright streamers and different glittery signs. One big banner was across the far wall of the room saying "WE SURIVIVED" in big block letters.

There was several different varieties of food below the banner from Chinese to pizza to sandwiches to chips and dip and vegetables along with a big cake from J, GOB with a blue and yellow gremlin on it.

Music was playing, and an air of general celebration - or was it relief - pervaded the room.

[OOC: After all the parents, guardians, journey guides, and other assorted relatives and friends have left the island. Minor OCD ~~coming up~~ is up]

"Hey, Willow." Lavender waved. "Your radio braodcast last night was great."

"Thanks," Willow said. "How was your Parents Weekend? Since you're here is it safe to assume you survived it?"

"I did indeed survive, though I had no visitors. Did you?" Lavender grinned.

"Nope," Willow said. "But Peter did, which turned out to be more than enough. For the record? Little brothers? Way harder to deal with than sisters."

"Hee, really I thought it would be the other way around. Peter mentioned that you'd met... umm Edmund is his name, right?"

"Edmund, right," Willow said. "And yeah, I would've thought sisters too. After all, they know all the girly secrets."

"I'm sure you made a lovely impression." Lavender assured her. "You're very likeable and it's obvious how much Peter cares for you." What? It's not like Lavender knows about the hald nekkid.

"I hope so," Willow said. "Now Ed gets to go home and report back on me. Well, I'm sure there's some Peter information in there as well, but I'm hoping what reporting I get is good."

"I'm sure it will be fine. I mean it's not like you coudl ahve done anything incriminated" Lavender grinned. "And now you get to have Peter all to yourself, again." She laughed. "And there's school tomorrow."

"Which I am greatly looking forward to," Willow said. "I hated missing so much last week when I was sick."

"Well, I suppose you get the fun of making work up this week?" Lavender said.

"True," Willow said. "And luckily all my teachers were very understanding. No black marks on my grades or anything, so whew."

"I don't think anyone would ever think you were simply palying hooky." Lavender assured her. "What classes are you taking?"

"Creature languages, Biology, Government, Values, and Dance," Willow said. "You?"

"Well, creature languages." She grinned. "And then Prophecy and Pop Culture. I wish I'd taken more classes though."

"I hear ya," Willow said. "Shame about that five class limit. And I still say they should let us have class on Saturday."

"You'd like Hogwarts. Some kids took ten classes. I swear it's insane."

Willow looked envious. "Ooo - that sounds wonderful! You're right, I probably would like it there."

"it's a bit more dangerous than here, though. That's why I'm here."

"Dangerous how?" Willow asked.

"There's a war." Lavender said as if that explained everything.

"Oh how awful," Willow said. "I hope your family is okay."

"Me too." Lavender said quietly. "I'm sure everything will be fine. My parents are little hypersensitive."

"I get that," Willow said. "Mine can be on the overreacty side too. That is when they notice stuff."

"Parents are weird that way. They sent me here to keep me safe cause they loved me oh so much but when I'm away at school I get maybe a letter a month.
