Second Floor Common Room - Later Sunday Evening

The Common Room had been hung with bright streamers and different glittery signs. One big banner was across the far wall of the room saying "WE SURIVIVED" in big block letters.

There was several different varieties of food below the banner from Chinese to pizza to sandwiches to chips and dip and vegetables along with a big cake from J, GOB with a blue and yellow gremlin on it.

Music was playing, and an air of general celebration - or was it relief - pervaded the room.

[OOC: After all the parents, guardians, journey guides, and other assorted relatives and friends have left the island. Minor OCD ~~coming up~~ is up]

Parker pointed at her. "You did! And I just barely got to talk to your parents! And your hair's purple, yay! I win the non-existent pool!"

"I was busy pestering Peter's creepy friend! An' then Mum dyed my hair before they left! I am so sorry!"

"Which is important, because creepy-pestering outranks cool, really. And the hair looks great, don't be sorry!" Parker grinned slightly, and handed over a cookie. "Did your parents at least have fun? They looked entertained, from what I saw."

Zero grinned. "They like it here." She took a bite out of her cookie and said, "Dad wants a dinosaur now. Mum said no."

Parker found herself grinning. "Is she afraid she'll have to walk it? That's not a song you want to emulate."

"More that it might eat the neighbors' yappy dog," Zero said. "We've just gotten where we haven't blown up the fence or anything to piss 'em off in a while."

Parker snickered, and said, "Always a plus. And I didn't flirt with your dad. Watching Jack flirt with Sydney put me off the idea. So you should thank him."

"I think I'm just surprised Jack didn' flirt with my da," Zero said. "And thank you. Because ew."

"I don't think he managed to run into them," Parker said, grinning. "And you're welcome, totally." She looked away. "My father is less than thrilled that I'm managing Teal Dear."

"What?" Zero scowled. "Why? What's wrong with us?"

"You're a rock band, not a seat on the Student Council." Parker made a face. "No matter how much I didn't want it any more. There's no arguing on that subject. So. I may be paying for it later."

Zero made a sound like, "Tsk," then said, "We're business experience."

"You are. And managerial experience. Accounting. Marketing. Original and not the same thing every Harvard applicant wants to claim they did--" Parker cut herself off, looking sheepish. "Sorry. I might be practicing for the inevitable phone call."

"Maybe we'll get a recording deal by then an' you can say you're manager of the world-famous Teal Dear."

Parker smiled. "That certainly wouldn't be something he could argue with." She sighed. "Yeah. Still on for van-shopping on Wednesday?"

"Unless somethin' comes up again, yeah. It'll be fun!" Zero has a definite mental image of their future van. It's possible it has nothing at all in common with Parker's mental image of the van.

"Cool." Parker's mental image is as close to a Maserati in a mini-van as you can get. "And you guys play three weekends in a row-- two here, and one in Baltimore. Then a break. We'll have enough money for any cool toys you want for the band." She grinned. "Rich and famous!"

"Swerval," Zero said. She's thinking more something they can fit Chad and the equipment in, not one or the other. "Go us!"
