"I'm not gonna make any suggestions," Cally said, smirking. "I'll let you do whatever you want."

Mac grinned, "You know you really shouldn't give me so much leeway with choices."

"I shouldn't? But I don't like trying to lead you into anything, either," Cally said. "Free will is very important."

Mac laughed. "And trust me, I have it," she said. Her attention was drawn by the action on screen for a moment, "Oh, psycho with a machete-ish thing incoming."

Cally gulped and looked. "So, is he killing for any reason? Or just because?"

"Escaped mental patient," Mac replied. "I think in Hollywood, crazy equates to freak-ass killer."

"Where as here, it sort of equates 'coping mechanism'," Cally said.

"It seems to be working well for people so far," Mac said still half concentrating on the on-screen dismemberment. "Ew."

"Gyaaah," Cally said, whimpering and burying her face into Mac's shoulder.

Mac smiled and turned her attention back on to Cally, adjusting the placement of her arm so she could stroke the other girl's hair. "Probably need some of that distraction about now, huh?"

"That'd be nice," Cally said, a bit muffled by Mac's shoulder.

"I bet you can't see anything at all from there anyway," Mac said nudging her a little. "You're missing the woman with the amazing fluctuating hairstyling."

Cally lifted her head and looked at Mac. "It's totally safe to look?"

Mac nodded, and gestured at the screen with her free hand. "Check out the hair. Curly this scene, look back in a couple of minutes and it'll be straight again. Finding slip ups in movies, so entertaining and it tends to stop you thinking about the blood and guts and freakyness so much."

Cally peeked over. "Okay, yep, definitely curly right now," she said. "Is she gonna end up fighting off the psycho?"

"Um, yeah," Mac said. "She stabs him with a knitting needle at one point. He's weird and basically invincible though, so I don't think he dies."

"Oh, great," Cally said. "So I'm gonna be really really scared tonight."

"Aaw," Mac smiled and squeezed Cally. "Well, I can try and save you from the crazy weapon weilding madman if you want."

"That? Would be frakking awesome," Cally said. "Keeping my safe is definitely something I want."

"Wouldn't want the evil creep to get you," Mac agreed. "That'd be tragic."

"Yes it would," Cally said. "So I think you might have to protect me all night."

"That shouldn't be a problem." Mac smiled and looked back at the screen, "Oh, guts. You might want to concentrate on other things for a minute."

Cally stared intently at Mac's ear. "I'm just going to pretend those noises are... ummm, not what they actually are."

"They're happy, joyous noises. Which in no way are accompanied by pain and fatal blood loss." She's just great at making people feel better. Really she is.

Cally was just going to focus on the ear. Yep. Mac's ear. There it is. Right there.

"Your ear is very cute," she said.
