Third Floor Common Room - Thursday Morning

Katara had woken up early and slipped out of her dorm room quietly. She considered going outside for a moment, but she decided to explore the floor she'd ended up on.

Finding herself in a big open room with several couches and tables and quite a few big boxes she had no idea about, she up a small floppy book made out of shiny paper and began to flip through it, looking at the pictures.


[OOC: Open as a Common Room is. Though I might be under periods of SP as it's my first day back at work after a week.]

"Oh, yum." Her stomach growled.

Jamie looked at her in amazement. "Was that your stomach?"

Dawn blushed. "Shut up. I only ate an apple for breakfast."

"Just making sure a bear hadn't wandered into the common room," he smirked.

Dawn blushed harder. "You're evil. I'm going to tell people."

"Only one part of me is evil and everyone knows about that," Jamie said. "You'll have to do better than tattling on me."

"I don't tattle!" Dawn said, offended, even though she totally just had threatened to tattle on Jamie. "I warn judiciously."

"Shouldn't I be given a jury of my peers before you can warn someone? That's the judicial way."

"Um, no," Dawn said. "And aren't you kind of your own jury of your peers, wherever you go?"

"Yes but I can be quite hard on myself," Jamie replied. "So I'm not really a good judge of my own character."

"Or you're the perfect judge," Dawn argued, "since who knows you better than yourself?"

"Well even I get surprised at who I am," Jamie replied. "The original me back home? He's got a dupe who's turned into an uptight secret agent."

"Really? How does that happen?"

"I don't know," Jamie said shaking his head in disbelief. "It's like I just have a mind of his own."

Dawn was quiet for a minute while she tried to figure out what the heck Jamie had just said. "Uh..."

"Sorry. Pronouns are difficult for someone like me."

"No, it's okay, I'll get it eventually," said she who read at least four dead languages, one of which wasn't even human.

"I would refer to myself in the third person but that tends to make us sound stuck up," Jamie explained. "And when I use a singular to describe all of us I just sound stupid. They really should just invent a new pronoun for people like Z and me. Us. We. Damn."

"Or you could just get a crown and a scepter and pretend you rule a small island country," Dawn suggested.

"I did get a crown for homecoming," Jamie mused.

"Any idea where I can pick up a sceptre at a good price?"

"Um...maybe Peter Pevensie will let you borrow his?" She suggested. "Or maybe they've got one at Stuff for Sale leftover from Halloween?"

"Nah. Gotta be a real sceptre. I don't think Peter would loan me his if he's still a king."

"If you rob royalty, I want it clear that I had nothing to do with this," Dawn said quickly.
