Sunday Evening - Fifth Floor Common Room

After handwavy shopping for supplies and food, Peter and Isabel decorated the Common Room and hung a banner across the back saying  "Congratulations on Surviving Our First Week of Classes!"  

A big cake of whatever flavour you want to mod saying much the same thing, soda, chips, and lots of other food were laid out on the table along with poppers, kazoos, noisemakers, and other party favours and games.

In short, the Common Room was set up for a big Student Council sponsored party for all students old and new.

"Irulan," Peter said with a nod. "How do you do this evening?"

"I am doing very well, King Peter." Irulan said with an equal nod of her own.

Peter smiled. "Really, do, call me Peter. Titles aren't terribly important here."

Irulan inclined her head, "Apologies, it does take some getting used to." She paused and with some effort, "Peter."

"It does, I agree," Peter said with a smile. "I was home over the holiday and keep reminding myself to keep formality."

"As king do you rule by yourself or do you rule with a council?" Irulan asked, curious. Here was a sovereign she might be able to look to as a guide.

"My siblings and I are monarchs together," Peter said. "I have a younger brother and two younger sisters. I rule as High King, but they are my co-monarchs."

"Co-monarchs?" Iruan remeated, blinking the very concept boggled her mind, "And they gladly share this with you? They do not attempt to grab the throne for themselves?"

Peter frowned. "They're my siblings. And besides, there are four thrones."

And to him, that was the end of the story.

Irulan continued to stare at Peter until her manners caught up with her. "Your court is very different from my own."

"Perhaps," Peter said. "Narnia is very different from most places."

"How is it different?" She asked, still unable to wrap her mind that a kingdom can escape ambition and greed.
