Second Floor Common Room, Monday evening

Jim wandered out to the common room with a bowl of candy - which included a few Canary Creams from the joke shop mixed in there - and turned on the second night of the season premiere of 60. There might be dead terrorists on the screen and there might be people turning into giant birds in the common room. No matter what, Jim figured he was going to be entertained tonight.

He couldn't help but wonder who was playing the one guy. "I know I've seen him in something. Oh! Wait! The stoner movie! The guy from the White Castle movie!" Jim was way too excited about figuring that out.

[OOC: Open as a common room tends to be. There are a handful of Canary Creams in the candy bowl. If you want to eat one, feel free. You'll be a giant canary for the span of a comment or so. And 60 is, of course, 24. Unless somebody directs me to a different meta for it.

Also, I'm American. I didn't know about any Australian politicians named John Howard. But meta-Bauer has a slight Australian accent Australia has a meta-Bauer accent because of it, okay?]

Peter just so happened to be walking by. He frowned. "Okay, where the hell do I know that guy from?"

"I just figured that out. He's the Indian guy from the stoner movie at White Castle," Jim said.

"Thank you," Peter said. He came in and took a seat. "Talk about a case of Hey It's That Guy. I'm Peter Petrelli by the way."

"It was driving me insane yesterday. Oh, Jim Halpert. That's me," Jim said. He was slightly distracted by the show, okay?

That was okay, Peter was distracted too. "This guy's doing pretty good for someone who's been dead... how many times so far? Five?"

"Only four. He was faking that one time," Jim said. "Okay, I don't know how you fake a flatline, but if I did, I'd do it all the time."

"Well you know killing him doesn't make him dead," Peter said. "Just makes him angry."

"Hey Peter," Cassie said with a wave.

"Hey Cassie," Peter said, giving her a smile. "You a big fan of 60?"

"Honestly never seen it," Cassie admitted. "I'm totally lost."

"Basically there's this guy John Howard who goes after terrorists," Peter said. "Only he does it in the most violent way possible. I wouldn't think about it any more than that because then you start to ask yourself questions like why is his son stuck in a trap and being threatened by a bear."

Cassie thought for a second.

"He doesn't wear a black shirt with a skull on it, does he?"

Snerk "Not that I've seen," Peter said. "But the version of the show could be different here from what I'm used to."

Another new person. "He does look kind of familiar," Tyler agreed. "Maybe he has a double here."

"I wouldn't rule that out," Peter said. "Peter Petrelli, by the way. Nice to meet you."

"Tyler Durden," Tyler supplied. "Likewise."

"I never rule out the possibility of doubles."

"Apparently I've got a few hundred of them," Peter said. "Plus they keep telling me there's all these other guys named Peter but I've yet to see any of 'em. I think it's part of hazing the newbies. You just think it's all the stories about trolls."

"There are a lot of Peters," Tyler said. "English, fat, the one from New York, and there was a cowboy one but he got kicked out. It's like the school is a Peter vortex."

He rubbed his chin. "You don't believe in trolls?"

"We don't have 'em where I'm from but I'm a willing believer," Peter said. "I'm convinced there's more out there than folks back home are willing to admit."

"And the terrorist was on the Galaxy Quest spinoff," Parker said absently, not taking her eyes off the screen. "Hi. Parker. Senior. John Howard's future wife."

"Peter Petrelli, sophmore, John Howard's future errand boy, probably," Peter said.

Parker grinned, and looked up, then waved. "Hi, Steve. Errand boy? You going into anti-terrorism?" She winced as someone onscreen got their head slammed into a car door. "Effective but messy."

"This would not be the kind of heroing I'd like to do," Peter admitted, also making a face at the onscreen violence. "It's good for TV but not so much for reality."

"Definitely not. To be avoided by being sneakier if at all possible," Parker said absently. "What kind of heroing do you aspire to?" she asked curiously. "I know I've heard your name on the Radio, and not just as Peter Number 4, but I'm afraid I'm blanking on the details."
