Second Floor Common Room - Wednesday Night

Kawalsky wasn't just in the common room. He was in the common room with enough junk food to last the night, pillows, all the blankets he could find and a bunch of chairs. The TV was playing the third hour of a Rescued by the Alarm marathon. It was the one where Bessie didn't get into the college she wanted and Shriek kept getting into the oddest colleges, so Bessie kept freaking out at everyone and scaring them with her giant feet.

Kawalsky was only half-watching it anyway. He was busy trying to make a giant room fort that covered the TV.

"It's all right," Haruhi assured. "I should apologize as well for intruding on things."

"Hey, you're my roommate," Cassie said. "You kinda have a bit of a right to ask."

"If it's okay with you," Haruhi replied. "I still don't understand the whole... superhero business, so I'm afraid I might say something wrong."

"Well, maybe I can try and explain it sometime," Cassie said. "And don't worry about it."

"That might work," Haruhi said. "I'm glad to hear you're doing better."

"Just got in a funk, yesterday," Cassie said. "Sorry."

"It happens," Haruhi replied. "Everything is all right now, and... we're building a fort."

"Yeah," Cassie said. "This is what you do in high school. Apparently."

"Apparently," Haruhi echoed, agreeing. "I guess the need to do silly things like this happens where ever you go."

"Yeah," Cassie said. "Weird."

"Ah, well," she shrugged. "Maybe it's not so bad."

"Maybe," Cassie said.

And then she chucked a pillow at Haruhi.

"Awp--!" Haruhi completely failed to catch the pillow, which went right to whamming her in the face. "Oi, no warning, even."

Cassie laughed. "So, what are you going to do about it?"

Without much thought, Haruhi flung it back.

Cassie took the pillow to the stomach, but caught it. Then stalked over, wielding it in her hands. "This does mean war."

Haruhi grabbed one of the numerous pillows from the fort. "Alright."
