Second Floor Common Room - Wednesday Night

Kawalsky wasn't just in the common room. He was in the common room with enough junk food to last the night, pillows, all the blankets he could find and a bunch of chairs. The TV was playing the third hour of a Rescued by the Alarm marathon. It was the one where Bessie didn't get into the college she wanted and Shriek kept getting into the oddest colleges, so Bessie kept freaking out at everyone and scaring them with her giant feet.

Kawalsky was only half-watching it anyway. He was busy trying to make a giant room fort that covered the TV.

"Hey Cass," Mel said starting to help with the fort. "So are you from around here? Or from someplace weird like me?"

"New York City," Cassie said. "I'll let you judge whether that's weird or not."

"200 years in the future," Mel explained. "I'm from Versi which is a borough of Haddyn.

"Wow," Cassie said. "So, time traveller?"

"Not by choice," Mel grumbled as she set up another wall secion. "Kind of got forced here against my will."

"Oh, suck," Cassie said. And then thought to ask the most important question. "So you're not travelling back in time to rebel against growing up to be evil?"

"No. I'm here to reconnect with my history. Or some rutting bullcrap like that," Mel said rolling her eyes.
