Third Floor Common Room, Sunday Morning

Dawn was wearing the same jeans and sweater she'd been wearing yesterday, not wanting to head back to her room and too tall to borrow Molly's. She was also freezing, which had led to her mixing up a very large pot of oatmeal. The fixings were in the cupboard if anyone wanted them, but she wasn't setting them out.

Instead, she was sitting with her bowl of healthy goodness (once you ignored the raisins and brown sugar she'd added to her own) and a very, very large mug of hot cocoa with mini marshmallows. She read through a large pile of books and scrolls she'd brought with her and that Giles had sent since May (not all of which were in English), trying to find anything that explained what was going on.

She made occasional notes on a pad as she worked.

Dean took a step back. "Oh god, you've turned into Blair."

"Blair?" Bel repeated. "Is he a demon as well? This place does seem to need more than one of us to fill it with joy."

"Okay, first of all, demons are nasty evil bad things that take delight in hurting people and have really bad breath," Dean began.

"Oh, no!" Bel said. "Demons are creatures of peace and love. We serve the Source of All Goodness."

Dean was back to staring. "The Source of all.... goodness," he repeated.

"Yes," Bel said, nodding. "We live in the gardens of the Underworld and go forth into the world to drive back evil and darkness with love and light."

"You sure you're not Blair?"

"No, I'm not Blair," Bel said. "But I would certainly like to meet him if he is like me."

"Well he usually is. This weekend though, who knows? He could be a vampiric mafiaosa centaur with a fetish for honey lemon tea and it wouldn't surprise me. Well, not much."

Bel nodded, not quite understanding. "Vampires are also creatures of light," he said.

"Okay, now you're just fucking with me."

"No, but if you wish me to fuck with you, I can," Bel said, eagerly moving in closer to Dean. "Although I prefer the less vulgar term of sharing love."

"What about your girlfriend?" Dean asked, fighting to keep from taking a step back.

"My duty to share love and joy with the world must come first," Bel said a little sadly. "And there is the problem with her being evil, but I am certain I can win her to the side of light with love."

"Wait... Phoebe's evil?" Actually, with everything else that's happened, that... actually made sense. Which really scared Dean.

"She and her sisters are the most powerful evil witches ever known," Bel said, looking down. "I was sent to try to sway them to the side of light, but...."

"You fell in love."

Bel nodded. "But I haven't given up trying to bring her to goodness," he said. "I never will."

"Admirable," Dean observed wryly.

"But in the meantime I must continue my duty to bring joy and love to those in need," Bel said. "Do you still wish to share love?"

"Um, that's okay. I'm good. Really."

"Let me know if you change your mind," Bel said, still smiling.

"Yeah, no. Thanks." Dean may have been backing up slowly.
