Third Floor Common Room, Sunday Morning

Dawn was wearing the same jeans and sweater she'd been wearing yesterday, not wanting to head back to her room and too tall to borrow Molly's. She was also freezing, which had led to her mixing up a very large pot of oatmeal. The fixings were in the cupboard if anyone wanted them, but she wasn't setting them out.

Instead, she was sitting with her bowl of healthy goodness (once you ignored the raisins and brown sugar she'd added to her own) and a very, very large mug of hot cocoa with mini marshmallows. She read through a large pile of books and scrolls she'd brought with her and that Giles had sent since May (not all of which were in English), trying to find anything that explained what was going on.

She made occasional notes on a pad as she worked.

Bel wrapped his arms around Lana. "You look as if you are in need of love and comfort," he said.

"Oh, I am," she said, rubbing herself up against him. "I'm definitely in need of...something. Do you think you can help me with that?"

"Certainly," Bel said. "It is my greatest gift to express and share love."

Lana stretched up to kiss him. "Mmmm... Phoebe said you were passionate."

"It's the essence of my nature," Bel said, dipping his head down to kiss Lana.

Oh, now this was more like it! She wrapped her arms around him, trying to get as close as possible while they kissed.

"Mmm, you are a very loving person, I can feel that," Bel murmured.

"You have no idea," Lana whispered against his lips. "I can do things that would blow your mind. And other parts of you, too, if you know what I mean."

"I am amenable to all variations in the expression of love," Bel said. "Whatever you wish to do."

Lana pulled back a little and looked at him curiously. "You don't seem very... passionate about it," she said. "You'll just... do whatever I want?"

"I am full of passion," Bel assured her. "And I will do whatever you wish to show you the pleasures of love."

Lana looked a little disconcerted and stepped back even more. "I can't believe I'm doing this," she said, "but there's no... edge to you. You make being bad seem... good. Where's the fun in that?"

"I can be fun," Bel insisted, disappointed.

"But can you be bad?" Lana demanded. "I'm so tired of being good."

Bel twitched a little. "I'm good," he said.

"I can't believe I'm doing this," Lana said again. She shook her head and stepped away from Bel. "I can't," she said. "I'm tired of good. I want passion, maybe a little danger, not 'I'll do whatever you want'. I'm sorry."

She walked away with a disappointed glance over her shoulder.

Bel was a little disappointed, but was quickly distracted by someone else in need of a hug.
