Third Floor Common Room, Sunday Morning

Dawn was wearing the same jeans and sweater she'd been wearing yesterday, not wanting to head back to her room and too tall to borrow Molly's. She was also freezing, which had led to her mixing up a very large pot of oatmeal. The fixings were in the cupboard if anyone wanted them, but she wasn't setting them out.

Instead, she was sitting with her bowl of healthy goodness (once you ignored the raisins and brown sugar she'd added to her own) and a very, very large mug of hot cocoa with mini marshmallows. She read through a large pile of books and scrolls she'd brought with her and that Giles had sent since May (not all of which were in English), trying to find anything that explained what was going on.

She made occasional notes on a pad as she worked.

The temptation to stay curled up in bed was powerful. But then Chad kept thinking about the weirdness that happened in that bed the morning before, and promptly decided to be a Morning Person today. As much as Chad could be one, which meant stalking into the common room, letting out a grunt of a greeting to everyone as he scratched his stomach and plopped onto his chair.

Chad nodded. "M'Chad. You Cally?"

"If I'm not, I totally want a refund on 'is broken jaw," Cally said.

Chad had a sympathetic frown for her. "How'ya holdin' out? You look...pretty okay, considering." Dios. She looked rough...

Chad nodded. "Need anything?"

Mac just scrutinised Chad carefully. She's got a bit more wary about just walking up to people now they aren't all as sane as they seem.

Chad tilted his head at the funny look Mac was giving him, but he lifted a hand in a wave for her and said, "Hey, Mac" anyway.

"Hi," she replied. He remembered her name. That was a good sign. Still, she's a little cautious. "Chad?"

He nodded, put a hand to his chest. "All original Chad, as far as I know."

That didn't actually mean a while lot at the moment, really. Mas sighed and took it as the truth anyway.

"So, you're gonna go crazy and drool, or... kiss me or anything, right?" She just has to check things like that.

Chad blinked at Mac thinking, great, another one.

"Uhhh..." What does one say to something like that? "Did'ya...want me to? 'Cuz you're really cute and all, Mac, but I don't think that's such a good idea."

"Chad, hi! Everyone's gone insane!" Zero said happily.

"Appears that way, yeah," Chad nodded.

She bounced. "Isn't it swerval?"

"Uhh, not so swerval," Chad shook his head in disagreement.

"Oh, come on," Zero said. "There's some guy with rubber nipples hidin' in the bushes outside the dorm. How is that not hilarious? Although, crazy cultist guy an' Bridge who thinks he's a ho? Less funny," she conceded.

"My boyfriend disappearing into someone else and Setsuna breaking Ranma's heart, also not funny," Chad grunted.

"Roomie!" Katara trilled, bouncing over to give her roommate a big hug.

Excited, random hugs from Roomie were a nice surprise. Chad grinned a little and hugged her back. "Hey, Katara."

"Isn't it the best weekend ever?" she asked, still half bouncing even as she found a seat.

Chad wished he could share Katara's excitement, but he couldn't. "Hasn't been so good fer me," he said sadly. "But I'm glad you've been having a good one."

"What do you mean?" she asked, immediately stricken by Chad's plight even though she knew in her heart that nothing could really go wrong as long as Zuko loved her.

"Boyfriend's turned into someone who's not my boyfriend just as things were starting to go really well, an' my best friend's girlfriend just broke his heart in the worst way imaginable," he explained. "So, yeah. Not so good."
