[2nd Floor Common Room, Thursday Morning]

Alec had apparently decided to take Hades' announcement to heart today, as he sat in the common room kitchen with a giant pot on the stove and many weetiny penguins running around. The stove was on, the water coming to a boil, and Alec was hungry.

[OOC: ...someone come tell him the penguins are not for eating?]

"Yes, but...no eating the penguins! How about a hot dog? Or maybe a burger?" She said hopefully.

"Do you have either one of those things?" Alec raised an eyebrow, looking Dawn over.

"Not in my pockets," she said defensively as she opened the fridge and peered in, then turned around to look over her shoulder at Alec. "Is this a cat-slash-bird thing? Oooh, cheese." She set that aside. It wasn't meat for Alec, but he wasn't the only one hungry. "Um...okay, maybe neither of those things are here, but that doesn't mean you should eat weetiny defenseless penguins."

"Ooh, cheese would be good on them," he said, finding a big bowl in a cupboard and beginning to gather weetiny penguins in it while the water continued to heat up. "Why shouldn't I though?"

And now Dawn was moving the cheese away from Alec. "Because there's not much meat on them and it would take forever to get full? Plus, feathers." She oh-so-stealthily tried to sneak the bowl o'penguins away from Alec.

Alec frowned when he turned to put a penguin in the bowl that had snuck several inches to the left. "I think if you cook them, you probably wouldn't even notice the feathers. And they're kind of chunky for weetiny things."

More sneaking. And maybe some motioning to the penguins that they should flee from the bowl while they still could. "I think penguins aren't like chickens and probably kind of tough. Also adorable and...don't eat the penguins!"

"What can I do to get you to not eat them?" She demanded, perhaps unwisely.

"Sex up Samantha," he said immediately, pulling the bowl back towards him and pushing penguins back into it with a deeper frown. "He needs it. Also I will totally donate condoms if you don't have any."

Dawn was busy trying to pluck penguins out of the bowl and set them far away from the penguin-eater and therefore might have missed part of what Alec said. "Samantha? Like, the senior? I don't even know her!"

"Like your boyfriend?" He said, while transferring penguins from the floor and into the bowl. "--wait, Sam is Samantha? Weird."

"Oh." Dawn blushed bright red. "Faith sent me a very large box of condoms back when I was dating Dean that never got used, so I'm all set, thanks. And, um, pick something else."

Sam would never forgive her if he thought she'd had sex with him as a bribe for Alec.

"You sure? I'd not be eating penguins, Sammy would finally get laid and settle down a bit, and you'd hopefully not be too disappointed," Alec said, hopeful.

It was sad how logical that argument sounded. But, "Hey! I wouldn't be at all disappointed! Which doesn't mean I'm considering this, because I'm so not. And why do you want to eat the penguins anyway?"

"I hope you wouldn't be! But if you are, that'd suck," Alec said. "And I want to see how they taste." There was an implicit duh there.

Dawn had to admit that Alec had a point. Yes, it would suck. "But they're alive, Alec." She reached over and picked up a penguin, then held it in the palm of her hand, where it stood, looking a little confused. "And innocent. And probably not very tasty."

Alec eyed the penguin, grimacing, then gave Dawn a look. "So I guess eating kittens would be against your rules too?"

"Oh. My. God." There was flailing again. "Why would you even ask me that?"

"What?" Alec frowned. "I'm not going to, I'm just... wondering."

"Yes, I'm anti-you eating kittens!"

"And penguins, apparently," Alec said, suddenly indignant.

"Well, yeah," Dawn thought that part would have been clear by now.

"You're oppressing me," Alec said, pouting.

"Yup." Dawn was pretty fine with that.

"I'll rebel and eat any cute animal I can find," he said sullenly.

"It's not that it's cute, it's that it's alive and being friendly and trusting. And, y'know, a penguin," Dawn tried to argue.
