Alec had apparently decided to take Hades' announcement to heart today, as he sat in the common room kitchen with a giant pot on the stove and many weetiny penguins running around. The stove was on, the water coming to a boil, and Alec was hungry.

[OOC: ...someone come tell him the penguins are not for eating?]

"They have beaks," Sokka answered. "Penguins are supposed to have whiskers. And four flippers."

He looked into the pot.

"Okay. I'm not very good at this, so we're going to do no-frills hunting-party style cooking. Toss the pot, and get me a skillet, a knife, and a penguin. And... herbs and spices. If you've got any."

Alec stared at Sokka a moment. "Penguins are birds, dude."

And then he realized what the new guy was saying and he turned to pull down a skillet from the cupboard. "Uh, I'm not sure what herbs and spices there are." Alec pulled a random bottle from another cupboard, frowning slightly. "Coriander? Ooh, chili powder."

"These penguins are birds," Sokka countered.

"Cori-wha? Sure. Sounds good. And chili, definitely. Uh. Knife?" Sokka looked around.

He snatched up a penguin and weighed it in his hand. "Not much meat on these..." he mused.

Sokka held the penguin over his head. "WHO WANTS SOME???" he asked the room.

Stacking the coriander next to the chili powder on the counter, Alec retrieved a knife from a drawer and handed it over to Sokka.

"I still think they're small enough to just be crunchy," he said. "But everyone seems to be really anti-penguin-eating."
