Third Floor Common Room, Tuesday Night
Valentine stood back and proudly admired the pillow fort that he had made out of the couch cushions. He wasn't half bad at making them even when he wasn't insane by way of cupcake, he decided, and he might take up designing sets for himself more often in the future.
The only thing he was really missing right now was a low-fat non-whip soy latte.
And a cast, crew, script and camera.
He'd iron out the kinks later. Nothing could stand in the way of the progress of the magic of the movies!!
(Common room open, as common rooms are! Come in and be a star? We can figure out OCD as we go. ETA: As most of us have gone to bed, slowplay is now the name of the game to finish that movie. OCD is up for the filming itself, and I think we have pretty much all the positions filled. But if you want to show up and gawk, you can totally do just that.)

"Oooh, I like the feathers."

"And oooooh, thanks! I just kinda added them and left them in. My hair never does what I want it to anyway." She blew the bangs out of her face in frustration.

Rikku shrugged a bit awkwardly. "I don't know. It's always in my face, so I kinda clip it up and it falls out and I put little things in it and then it's still always in my face but at least it's interesting then."

"Ooooh, don't say that! Your hair is really pretty! It's all, like, shiny and stuff." She reached out a hand to it, and then realized that that was probably kinda weird and dropped it. "It looks great. I can't leave mine down, it sticks out like crazy. Trust me."

"I think the Al Bhed always stand out. Maybe it's so we can see each other out in the desert." She shrugged. "You do too have style. And your hair is way cooler than mine, seriously."

She considered. "Not, like a lot or anything, but we had our own city, out on Bikanel. There, uh, used to be more of us." She shrugged, looking away for a second.

"Oh, I'm sorry," she recognized the look away, having done it herself when Sunnydale was mentioned. "I stick my foot in my mouth all the time."

"Oh! No, no, it's fine, really. I'm just - being stupid." She rolled her eyes. "We saved the world, it's just a rough trip. Not gonna help anything feeling bad about it, right?"

Her voice was low. "Mine was a Tidus. A-and we promised ... we'd take care of Yunie. He loved her and he never told us because ... because we wouldn't have. L-let him. And she watched him die. We watched him die. Just ... fade out like he was never there at all."
She's not crying. Just because a few stray tears roll down your face, that doesn't mean you're crying.

"Your friend, the punk? I'm so sorry." She shook her head. "Big ball of fire ... sounds kinda dramatic. Like you get an exit. Apologize ... to Tidus? For letting him die? There wasn't time. It just ... happened." She looked at Dawn strangely. "You ... apologized to Spike?"

She replayed the conversation in her head for a few seconds and then facepalmed. "Oh. OH! Sorry, no, I ... that's not what I meant. I mean, I don't think you could have stopped them anyway, it was just, she wandered off all 'I give up' and he's like 'let ME talk to her' and then they spend a freaking hour off in the spring and come back wet and looking all glow-y like that's not obvious or anything." There was a small smile to go with that.
"I meant, he knew. That - that if we saved the world, he'd go away. And he didn't tell us because ... I don't know. Maybe because he's a selfish jerk or maybe because he knew we would have never let that happen and ..." She shook her head. "We didn't know. It was just, oh, hey, guys? Sorry. I'm vaporizing now. Great. Thanks a lot."
