Basilisk Campfire, Sunday Evening

So much packing and unpacking today! after visiting his little sister and getting his and Chad's alcove set up, Teddy went to go sit out by the campfire and maybe meet his cabinmates.

He was currently reading one of his comics to pass the time. Had to get through all those new comics he got at that con over on the mainland.

[[ooc: Open as campfires are wont to be]]

Inara took a seat in front of the fire, pulling her shawl around her. The nights got unexpectedly chilly. She waved to her other assembled cabinmates and remembered that she was here to get to know people.

"Hello," she greeted them.

"I'm Inara. It's nice to meet you, Teddy. Which side are you on?" She wasn't sure how this worked yet, but she didn't think she'd met everyone on her side yet.

"A3," she said, after a few seconds of trying to remember, then asked, figuring he'd just arrived late, "Are you a new student?"

"Did you have a nice time?" She couldn't ask where he went, since the answer would be completely nonsensical to her.

"It's...an adjustment, I guess is the best way to put it," she admitted, "but other than all the trees and nature, it doesn't seem that weird yet."

It should be noted that Inara had yet to meet any turtles, human or otherwise.

Well Billy wasn't a cabinmate, but he was here nonetheless. "Hi, welcome to Fandom."

[identity profile] ambassadorinara.livejournal.com 2007-05-14 03:55 am (UTC)(link)
"Thank you very much," she smiled at him, "Have you been here long?"

[identity profile] l1ttle-billy.livejournal.com 2007-05-14 04:15 am (UTC)(link)
"I came in September." he said. "I'm Billy."

[identity profile] ambassadorinara.livejournal.com 2007-05-14 04:15 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm Inara. So you must know all the ropes, then?"

[identity profile] l1ttle-billy.livejournal.com 2007-05-14 04:27 am (UTC)(link)
"Very nice to meet you Inara. I know a few of them. But the island seems to keep coming up with ways to surprise even us veterans."

[identity profile] ambassadorinara.livejournal.com 2007-05-14 04:52 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh?" She asked, "How so?"

[identity profile] l1ttle-billy.livejournal.com 2007-05-14 03:38 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well, just for instance, not too long ago the island was visited by our possible future offspring. Even the kids who'd been here longer than me were surprised about that."

"Hello Inara," Haku smiled and offered her a hot dog on a stick. "Would you like something to eat?"

[identity profile] ambassadorinara.livejournal.com 2007-05-14 03:56 am (UTC)(link)
"What is it?" She asked, not familiar with the hot dog as a form of food. Her protein usually came in soy form.

"I beleive it's a kind of sausage, the package said chicken," He said, picking it up and looking at it.

[identity profile] ambassadorinara.livejournal.com 2007-05-14 04:12 am (UTC)(link)
Inara leaned over to study it. "Why is it on a stick?"

[identity profile] snow-white-boy.livejournal.com 2007-05-14 04:18 am (UTC)(link)
Haku smiled. "Because it would fall into the fire otherwise and burn, it's common with fire pit cooking."

[identity profile] ambassadorinara.livejournal.com 2007-05-14 04:53 am (UTC)(link)
"I've never cooked over a fire before," she admitted, not that it wasn't probably obvious.

[identity profile] snow-white-boy.livejournal.com 2007-05-14 05:02 am (UTC)(link)
"I've spent most of my life on the run or outdoors, so I learned fairly quickly," Haku explained. "Fish are very good cooked over a fire, but they didn't have any at the store."

[identity profile] ambassadorinara.livejournal.com 2007-05-14 05:05 am (UTC)(link)
"Do they have any in the pond?" She asked, remembering seeing one on her walk earlier, "And on the run? From what?"
