Sunday Evening - Curupira Campfire

It was their last night in the cabins.  It was also raining.  But Katara refused to let that stop her from trying to roast marshmallows one more time.

So any visitors to the Curupira campfire would find a merrily crackling fire, s'mores makings, and a strangely dry patch of ground around the fire.

Also a waterbender who was concentrating a lot on keeping that area dry.

After getting caught in the rain on the beach, Tori wandered past the campfire and couldn't help but grin when she saw Katara.

"Hey." She smiled and waved, entering the dry spot, wishing she could do that.

"Tori, hi!" Katara said, waving. "Come have marshmallows."

Tori waved, smiling. "Thanks Katara. Marshmallows sound great."

"How have you been?" she asked. "I'm so sad we're going back to the dorms."

"I've been well." Tori grinned brightly. "I kind of have a boyfriend, sort of." She blushed, knowing it wasn't exactly official but they were getting there. "Me too. I really enjoyed being out here."

"Really?" Katara looked brilliantly happy at Tori. "Who? Is he one of the new kids?"

"Yeah." Tori blushed a tiny bit more and shook her head. "Actually, no. It's Luke." She might've lowered her voice ever so slightly, blushing a bit more when she told Katara who it was.

"Eeeee!" Katara bounced a little bit, clapping her hands. "That's awesome! Luke's so nice!"

Tori laughed, turning a bit redder. "Thanks. Yeah, he is."

Katara noticed the blushing and finally stopped with the bouncing. "Sorry. I got excited. Seriously though, I'm so happy for both of you."

"Oh, no need to apologize." Tori shook her head, grinning. "Really, it's okay. Thanks. That means a lot."

"Awww, thanks," she chuckled. "What else has been going on? That's the big thing, I get."

Tori nodded. "It is, yep. I've been working at Book Haven on Tuesdays and TAing for two workshops. Getting some surfing in. That's really it."

"It sounds like fun," Katara said with a nod. "Are you going to be around all summer?"

"I am, yes." Tori grinned. "Fandom can't get rid of me that easily." She winked, chuckling.

"Yay! I'm so glad!" Katara said. Then she grinned "So can I ask you a favour? Will you maybe teach me how to surf sometime? I think I've seen it on the TV in the common room, and it looks like so much fun."

"Sure! I would love to teach you how to surf. I'm going to teach Luke how to, as well." Tori nodded, grinning brightly. "Just let me know when it's good for you and I will be there."

Katara bounced. "Yay! I'm so excited!"

"Me too." Tori laughed, grinning. "It'll be a lot of fun, I promise."
