Third Floor Common Room, Late Sunday Evening

Rikku had no idea why she was up. She should be tired, but she wasn't. Go figure!

Luckily, her Monday class wasn't until after lunch, so it was okay if she stayed up late. She'd even remembered to bring snacks this time. Lots of sugary goodness and crunchy stuff.

The TV said it was a Movie Monster Marathon and Rikku was learning all kinds of stuff. She felt like taking notes. She'd have to ask someone later if any of these creatures were real or not. Most of them weren't anywhere in Spira, that was for sure.

Donnie poked hie head into the common room when he heard the television going - it sounded like something Mikey would watch, but if he was disappointed not to find his brother there, he covered it well. "Evening?"

"Donnie!" Rikku waved. "We have monster movies, and snacks! Join us?"

"Awesome!" He grinned and went to take a seat. "Thanks, I was wondering what I could find to do until I felt sleepy. Are they good movies so far?"

"Horrible movies," Rikku said, offering him some chips. "But fun in their badness. I had to learn about that. Pretty neat."

"Mikey loves movies like this," Donnie said, taking some chips carefully in one hand. "They definitely have a sort of goofy charm. And an air of 'did someone actually think this was a great concept?' most times. Do they not have them where you come from?"

"Nope!" Rikku announced. "We don't really have movies or anything. Uh, I'm from Spira, and you've never heard of it, but we don't have a whole lot of neat technology stuff, 'cause the Yevonites suck. And I'm an Al Bhed, which doesn't matter, 'cept if you were from Spira you'd be all 'Oh, an AL BHED?!' and a jerk about it so I keep bringing it up in case someone here does know about it so they can just freak out and get it out of the way. And Mikey's rooming with the Jude-dude and I tooooootally made myself look like an idiot in front of him."

"Huh. Well, what's it mean, being Al Bhed?" He asked curiously. "And what happened with Mikey?"

"Hey, Donnie," Seely waved.

"Hi Seely," he waved back. "How've you been?"

"Pretty good," Seely replied. "How about yourself?"

"Not bad, really. Kind of missing the cabins though, except for how my computer is up here," he said.

"The cabins are pretty cool," Seely said. "But I like the privacy you get with the dorms."

"At least you had an alcove to yourself in the cabins," Donnie pointed out. "But the dorms aren't bad, really. I think I miss the campfires the most. They seemed friendlier than the common rooms, somehow."

"Good evening," Aravis said with a smile. "Come help me prove that these could be real creatures!"

"What could be?" Donnie asked, looking curious. "I can try, I suppose..."

"On the television!" she said, pointing. "Regardless of the seams."

Donnie glanced at the television and laughed. "It's possible! Most people would say giant talking turtles can't be real either."

"Yes, exactly!" Aravis said, relieved that someone was agreeing with her. "It could really just be the way they look and I think it's cruel to make fun of them."

"Well, I think when you can see the zippers and seams, it gets easier," he said, grinning. "Though you can never be sure what they look like inside the costume, either!"
