After visiting the big picnic, and picking out most of the new people by sight, Evie retired back to the dorms and settled into the lobby couch to people-watch. With a book. Or possibly, five.

Anne simply couldn't help herself. It wasn't polite to stare, but she had never seen someone whose hair appeared to defy the laws of gravity before.

Evidently, it robbed her of her ability to speak.

Demyx tilted his head to the side, looking at Anne. "Uh, hi?"

"Oh," faltered Anne, "hello. I've never seen ha -- anyone who looked quite like you before."

"Yeah? Thanks." Demyx preened a little, running a hand through his hair. "I'm Demyx. Who're you?"

"Anne Shirley," she replied, a slight note of envy in her voice. "It's such a plain name, though I try to make the most of it by spelling it with an E. It's amazing how much difference one simple letter can make, isn't it? Is your name spelled with an X? I've never met many people whose names were spelled with an X, but I think the letter X makes a name ever so mysterious and romantic."
