Luke was in the common room surrounded by the ingredients to make sand cookies--and his cakensmoosher in case things got out of hand--frantically searching for the piece of flimsiplast that had the recipe on it.

He and Jo had a date to make cookies.

And Luke couldn't cook.

This shouldn't be a disaster. Really.

Artoo was in the corner with his video running. Artoo was an evil, evil droid.

He tossed them between his hands and then began spinning them using the Force. "Don't what?" he asked, all innocence.

There were a lot of reasons Aunt Beru had banned Luke from cooking: this was one of them.

He crinkled his nose up, then cracked the egg between his fingers and tried to drop the goop onto her hair.

Terribly mature behavior. Really.

Batting uselessly at the raw egg in her hair, Jo picked up the mixing bowl and brandished it at Luke.

Luke countered by holding up a whisk and the bag of sugar. This could only end in disaster.

Not that that stopped Jo from trying to dump the contents of the bowl over Luke's head.

"I think we're going to have to start over," Luke said, sputtering as the butter and sugar gooped into his eyes.

Then he tipped the bag of sugar over her head.

Jo didn't flail at all as sugar poured down into her shirt.

And Luke totally wasn't watching the sugar pour down her shirt.

Which...wouldn't explain why he was suddenly beet red and finding the ceiling absolutely fascinating.

Which gave Jo an opportunity to upend the bag of flour over Luke, fidgeting all the while because that sugar was kind of itchy.

Luke kinda looked like a tall, flour coated cookie at the moment, yeah.

"Truce?" he asked, blinking flour from his eyelashes and moving a little closer.

Jo nodded, still trying to shake sugar out of her clothes. "Truce."

Luke took another step closer and leaned his sticky forehead against hers. "It's not always this messy when I cook," he claimed.

Jo grinned, and nudged her nose against his. "Let me guess, it's messier?"

Luke's hand had drifted to her waist. "Maybe..."

"If Gavin's as good a cook as you are..." Jo said, smoothing her hands up his shoulders.

"...you'll trade me in for a different Tatooine farm boy?" he asked, moving closer and wiping some sugar from her cheeks.

"I'm not sure Inara would want to share," Jo pointed out. "Besides, I like the one right here."

"That is an excellent answer," Luke said, tilting his head to kiss her.

Jo smiled into the kiss. "Plus you look better in flour."

"Beautiful and smart," he said, nudging his nose against hers. "I'm so lucky."

"And I can cook," Jo said, smiling. "Handy that."

"I think I'll keep you," Luke decided.

Then he paused as the little Leia voice in his head started shrieking at him.

"Not that I view you as a thing in any way," he said hastily.

"I know you don't," Jo said. "If you did, Mom and you would have to have words."
