Third floor common room [morning]

After spending most of the night in a Jedi healing trance, Luke didn't look like he'd had a wall dropped on him the night before.

But he was very, very tired of his room. And he was hungry.

So over Artoo's protests, he was in the common room attempting to make breakfast.

Since he wasn't making cereal, it wasn't going very well.

Jo just looked cute and innocent. Perky, even.

"Impressive doesn't always mean good. I'll be going back to finish that thing off," she said.

"Look for blueprints, too," Luke replied.

"I'm going to be unhappy if I have to visit you in the clinic," Luke said softly.

Jaina considered this. "He might have those in his possession here, too," she said. "But I'll look."

He leaned in to kiss her. "I'm holding you to that."

Jo grinned into the kiss. "You can hold me to a bit more than that."

"There's giving a second chance, and there's asking for trouble," Luke said. "We would've solved a lot of problems a lot earlier if the Death Star's plans had gone up with the thing."

Luke smiled, blushing. "I could, but not here..."

"That'd be just a little awkward, yeah," Jo agreed.

"True," she said. "Of course, the person who designed it still knows how they did it."

"Oh, well, with a name like that, I can't imagine how nobody guessed there might be a problem with this guy eventually," Z snarked.

"Not that it wouldn't be interesting to try, but...people."

"But they probably couldn't recreate it exactly," Luke said optimistically.

Luke gave her a wry smile. "He spends a lot of time talking about himself in the third person, too."

"No, but they could also improve on it."

"Does he abuse exclamation points? Because I've heard that's a sure sign of a disordered mind," Z said. "And more importantly, how thoroughly did you thwart him? Were there any giant robots?"

Luke looked unhappy. "Maybe," he admitted.

"Only if you count the outfit Doom was in," Luke said with a smirk.

"But like you said, give him a chance, right?" She wouldn't, but hey.

"Exactly," Luke said, nodding.

"Your dad's okay with this?" She was either humbled by his forgiveness or amazed by his naivete, but couldn't tell which.

Luke hadn't asked him. "He knows my thoughts on these sorts of situations."
