4th Floor Common Room [Sunday, Morning]

Mac had never been so glad to have access to caffeine. Sunday mornings were supposed to be for lie-ins.

Kids, as it turned out, woke up antisocially early and usually only to demand food. Well, that was what the shape of the last twenty-four hours told her, anyway.

That, and that she should invest in electronic tagging. Mainly for Miles. Maybe Veronica could set her up with child lo-jack...

Anyway, once she'd finally figured out that if you gave them lots of cereal and sit them in front of cartoons they didn't break things quite so much, she did just that, and settled down with her coffee to make the most of the break. However short-lived that might be.

"I can't take you out for the day without putting some kind of breakfast in you first." Billy said, his daughter trailing behind him. She was dressed once again in a yellow raincoat and red galoshes over the same clothes she'd worn the day before. She didn't mind.

"I've seen the town before." she reminded him.

"You've seen it, ten, maybe twenty years down the line. I'm sure it's much different. This will give you a kind of...uh, historical perspective."

"Oh! Okay." she agreed happily. Billy made a mental note for the future. She was interested in history. Or at least pretended.

"Not that much different," Caz piped up around a mouthful of cereal.

"Really? That's kind of comforting in a way."

[identity profile] pleasedontbreed.livejournal.com 2008-04-27 06:18 pm (UTC)(link)
"My big sister goes here," Caz explained.

[identity profile] l1ttle-billy.livejournal.com 2008-04-27 06:42 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh yeah? Very cool." He pointed to Faith. "So did hers, and now her brother does."

[identity profile] pleasedontbreed.livejournal.com 2008-04-27 07:40 pm (UTC)(link)
"Cool," Caz said. "My mom and dad met here."

[identity profile] l1ttle-billy.livejournal.com 2008-04-27 09:02 pm (UTC)(link)
"Excellent. Who are your mom and dad?"

[identity profile] notacobrakid.livejournal.com 2008-04-27 06:10 pm (UTC)(link)
"Huh?" Faith looked confused for a moment. "Oh! No I just like the coat and the boots."

[identity profile] notacobrakid.livejournal.com 2008-04-27 06:42 pm (UTC)(link)
"Thanks." Faith smiled. "My name is Faith, what's yours?"

[identity profile] notacobrakid.livejournal.com 2008-04-27 07:10 pm (UTC)(link)
"Pleased to meet you Mac." Faith said with a slight curtsy. Some things her older sister tried to teach her had actually seemed worthwhile. "I'm his daughter." she pointed to Billy.

"It's very interesting. My older sister and brother told me about meeting Dad when he was this age, but I didn't really believe them. You know, until now."

Faith smiled. "I guess maybe all the other stories were true too."

Faith giggled and took the cereal. "Thank you." she said. She rarely got to eat the really sugary cereals like this. It was a rare treat.

Amy smiled at her, and grabbed another handful for herself.

"I may regret all this sugar later," Mac said.

[identity profile] notacobrakid.livejournal.com 2008-04-28 12:46 am (UTC)(link)
"Probably." Faith smiled. "We won't though."

[identity profile] weetinyq.livejournal.com 2008-04-28 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
Mac groaned, "I bet."

Amy on the other hand grinned brightly and filled her mouth with most of that handful.

Faith took a bit more time with her handful. She made sure there was some marshmallows in each bit that she ate.

In between eating she introduced herself to Amy. "I'm Faith. Nice to meet you."

[identity profile] weetinyq.livejournal.com 2008-04-28 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
Amy responded with a muffled. "Mmm mmy."

Which translated to 'I'm Amy', but in 'I've-just-stuffed-food-in-my-mouth' talk.

Faith was still young enough that she understood that. Mostly. "How old are you Amy? I'm ten."
