4th Floor Common Room [Sunday, Morning]
Mac had never been so glad to have access to caffeine. Sunday mornings were supposed to be for lie-ins.
Kids, as it turned out, woke up antisocially early and usually only to demand food. Well, that was what the shape of the last twenty-four hours told her, anyway.
That, and that she should invest in electronic tagging. Mainly for Miles. Maybe Veronica could set her up with child lo-jack...
Anyway, once she'd finally figured out that if you gave them lots of cereal and sit them in front of cartoons they didn't break things quite so much, she did just that, and settled down with her coffee to make the most of the break. However short-lived that might be.

So he decided to go exploring and see if he could find food.
He wandered into the fourth floor common room and was surprised to see a familiar face.
"Hey, Aunt Mac! What's for breakfast?"

Wait... Aunt Mac? "Uh, where are your parents?"

He grabbed the box of cereal and started pouring himself a very full bowl.

Thinking of a guy here who would sleep a lot, hold pancake eating contests, and who looked very much like this kid, that was easy. Figuring out why the son of said guy would refer to her as his aunt... Yeah, that would be what was stumping her.
"Sounds like Dick," she said, partly to herself. "Bet she'll be surprised." Presumably, whoever his mother was, she wouldn't be expecting that call.
"Uh, you know how it's early?" she tried. "Want to help me out with your name?"

"Cally's-- no, she's not here right now," Mac told him as that statement started to sink in. Cally obviously came back in his world.
She smiled, and was kind of amazed to find that so far, she didn't hate a kid of Dick's. That was pretty amazing.

It was only after all that, that Mac realised who else it was that Caz reminded her of, but... She wouldn't have. Right?
Considering last years supposed future children, she had to check. After all, momentary insanity was a possibility. "You're... Veronica's kid?"

"Wow, that--" Mac decided not to mention the crazy. "Interesting reality you come from," she said instead. Maybe Veronica had trained Dick not to be so annoying... That might be it. "Does your dad get threatened with a tazer a lot, by any chance?"

"I've seen the town before." she reminded him.
"You've seen it, ten, maybe twenty years down the line. I'm sure it's much different. This will give you a kind of...uh, historical perspective."
"Oh! Okay." she agreed happily. Billy made a mental note for the future. She was interested in history. Or at least pretended.
