Andromeda campfire, Monday evening

Jaina hadn't really had the concept of summer that most people had. There hadn't ever been a break from school for her, and half the time she'd be on a different planet that wouldn't even have proper summer weather. But not having classes till later in the week certainly helped with the summer feel, so that was why Jaina was starting a campfire, and wondering if she should have gotten marshmallows or something first. Oops.

[Open! It's my day off, I am enjoying it, dammit.]

"I can't be contained to just one campfire. I'm a rebel," Lois said, grinning. "I'm Lois."

"I'm John," he returned the grin. "I like to think of the campfires like the common rooms, just less food to steal."

"I haven't gotten a chance to steal food from the common rooms," Lois said. "The school dragged me away to the cabins before I could."

"Really, all you have to do is a nice circuit around the cabins and check out all the campfires," John told her. "One's bound to have something interesting going on. I'm disappointed there are no marshmallows here."

"Ooo marshmallows. I knew something was missing here," Lois said. "Someone dropped the ball on that one."

"Marshmallows should be the first thought when planning a campfire," John decided. "Second would be the entire s'more in my estimation."

"God, s'mores," Lois said. "Now I'm craving them. The campfire looks so lonely without chocolate wrappers and dropped marshmallows around it."

"Of course, last year I got sick of s'mores pretty fast," John remembered.

"Sick of s'mores?" Lois asked with mock surprise on her face. "How is that possible?"

[identity profile] missed-the-gate.livejournal.com 2008-05-13 01:32 am (UTC)(link)
"Two months of s'mores at campfires and in the cafeteria will get to anyone," John said. "Too much of a good thing, I guess."

"I think you need to learn the concept of balance this year," Lois said. "Maybe have some popcorn or hot dogs in between those s'mores."

[identity profile] missed-the-gate.livejournal.com 2008-05-13 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
John laughed lightly, "Yes, because hot dogs and popcorn will even out the sugar content with some salt and...what are hot dogs made of anyway?"

[identity profile] armybrat-lois.livejournal.com 2008-05-13 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
"I think the real question is, do you really want to know what hot dogs are made of?" Lois asked.
