Andromeda campfire, Monday evening

Jaina hadn't really had the concept of summer that most people had. There hadn't ever been a break from school for her, and half the time she'd be on a different planet that wouldn't even have proper summer weather. But not having classes till later in the week certainly helped with the summer feel, so that was why Jaina was starting a campfire, and wondering if she should have gotten marshmallows or something first. Oops.

"It's an interesting place," said Jaina. And then she tried to come up with a better way to phrase that, and instead came up with, "It's an interesting place."

"Ino was telling me a bit about that," Dick said. "I'm still not positive that I'm not just insane and imagining this whole thing because some of this stuff sounds completely nuts."

"Oh, it's completely nuts," she said bluntly. "Come to recognize this early and the insanity feels a little less scary."

"It takes a lot for me to find something scary, so I'll be happy if I can just get to the point where it's kind of normal," Dick said.

"It might take an invasion or two before that happens," she warned.

"Trolls. Dinosaurs. Creepy stone angels that send people into the past."
