Camp gym (Salle)- Thursday before classes

While it would be nice to have a summer without worrying whether or not any relatives would be listening to the radio and not feeling checked up on, Jaina also realized that she was losing the two people who helped her with her lightsaber training, too. This was definitely a downside, and she new that it just meant she was going to have to make it a point of getting down here more and practicing herself. She thought she might get a lecture if she was all rusty come fall, after all.

Making sure to stick a note on the door to give warning that there was someone back here with a nice live weapon that was known for chopping off limbs, she set up three remotes to start firing, and ignoted her lightsaber to start deflecting the bolts that were going to be coming at her at pretty high speeds.

[Yes I did have to go into old posts to make sure the salle was there. Open, as I have a couple hours before work still, but then it'll be SP till this evening PST. Fair warning.]

Luke kept up, eyes bright with approval. "Plan on doing this all day, huh?" he asked.

"I could," she replied. No, she couldn't.

"Sure you could," Luke teased, "but you'd come out of here smelling like a Gamorrean."

"That's why showers were invented," she returned.

"Is that what they're for?" Luke grinned. "I'm from Tatooine. We need these things explained."

"They involve the opposite of sand," she said simply.

"The wet stuff, right?" Luke replied.

"See, you know what we're talking about."

Luke laughed. "You might have to use smaller words to explain it to Gavin," he said.

"I'd probably save myself a lot of frustration if I just didn't try," Jaina pointed out.

"But there's no fun in that option for me," Luke replied.

"You could try explaining it. Tell him what you've learned," she suggested.

Luke laughed, the tempo of his lightsaber against hers never faltering. "I'll make time to do that before I head home."

She was keeping up, never doing anything too crazy, but sort of testing herself to make sure she could keep up. "Should go on the top of the to-do list, I think."

"Definitely," Luke said. "It's been way too long since I've annoyed him."

"That's just not right," she said, trying for a slightly different angle in her swing, just to see if it would throw him off.

It did, but only for a heartbeat. Anyone who wasn't a Jedi wouldn't even notice.

Luke was getting tired.

So was Jaina, but she was trying to learn what she had to do to alleviate that, whether she needed to slow down or speed up and how to stop her muscles from aching without faltering herself. This was her figuring out new techniques.

It took him a few minutes, but Luke finally figured out what she was up to--Force knew it was something Anakin had spent time drilling into Luke as well--and he worked on keeping his tempo as steady as possible, only drawing on the Force when it became absolutely necessary.

He was better at that than she'd expected- which was stupid of her and she knew it- and she sped up more, throwing in a couple more complicated moves, pretty sure this wasn't going to work in her favor.

Luke batted them away, but the effort it was taking was beginning to show. "Mara's going to be impressed."

"No, she's not," Jaina said, but she really might be, and it pleased her just to hear it.

Luke grinned. "She didn't strike me as demanding ridiculous standards."

"If I could do it without relying on the Force as much, maybe," she conceded. Because yeah, she was relying on it pretty heavily.

"You'll get there," Luke said, eyes absolutely certain.
