Second Floor Common Room [Tuesday Evening]

Ned hadn't been in the common room in awhile what with the cabins and the lack of oven out there. Rectifying the lack of baking was easy enough as sliding on his apron (still not pink) and heading down the hall to the nearest common room.

Now, he was in the midst of baking a pie or two.

It was almost relaxing, being able to do this again. And it didn't involve stick figures so he wouldn't end up making one side bigger than the other.

The tv was on for some background noise but Ned was baking, not watching.

Tosh waved back. "Hello, Molly."

"How're classes going so far?"

"I have only had one so far. Physics," Tosh replied, sounding excited about the subject. "It was very good so far. How are yours?"

"There's a lot more thinking involved than I thought there'd be," she said, "but I've got my very own egg to take care of in care of magical creatures, so it should be fun to see what comes out of it."

"Oh, that sounds intriguing," Tosh said. "Do you have any guesses as to what it might be?"

"I'm kind of hoping that it ends up being a dragon, like in the Barry Plodder books," she laughed. "And the best part? We don't have to worry about it eating us in our sleep, since it stays in the classroom."

"Not being eaten in our sleep is a definite plus," Tosh admitted.

"Is it just me, or is that a sentence you just never thought you'd say?"

Tosh laughed. "No, can't say it is. This place. It's going to take some getting used to."

"I know, right? Have people been telling you all kinds of insane things? I'm so not sure whether to believe them or not."

"Well, it was 1992 when I left London and now it's apparently 2008," Tosh said. "I am trying to wrap my brain around that one."

Molly did some quick mental math. "Wow, so where you're from, I'm not even born yet. And you're in your twenties!"

That was a little bit more mind boggling. "That puts a whole other perspective on it."
