Second Floor Common Room [Tuesday Evening]

Ned hadn't been in the common room in awhile what with the cabins and the lack of oven out there. Rectifying the lack of baking was easy enough as sliding on his apron (still not pink) and heading down the hall to the nearest common room.

Now, he was in the midst of baking a pie or two.

It was almost relaxing, being able to do this again. And it didn't involve stick figures so he wouldn't end up making one side bigger than the other.

The tv was on for some background noise but Ned was baking, not watching.

Hurley followed his nose down to the second floor common room.

"...I'm not, like, breaking any unspoken rule by coming to a different floor, am I?" he asked.

"No, it's allowed," Ned said, looking up towards the new arrival. "I just prefer to cook on my floor. No rules, not at all."

"Oh, cool," he said. "So you do the cooking thing a lot?"

It was a sign of how used to Fandom Susan was becoming -- she actually waved to the boy she didn't recognize.

Mind, it was a rather dainty, graceful little wave, but still. It was far more casual than she'd been in weeks prior.

Hurley waved back. "Uhhh, hi," he said with a friendly smile.

Molly had done some heavy duty thinking after Ethics class and decided to celebrate by vegging out in front of the tv.

"Hey," she greeted, waving as she flopped herself onto one of the couches. "What kind of pie?"

"Uh, there white chocolate macadamia nut pie and an old fashioned sweet potato pie," he said, looking up after he'd finished mixing some things together in a bowl.

"Are you a baker? Like, professionally?"

"Did I smell pie?" Harry asked, having wandered down a few floors. He really was working hard on his not-hermiting merit badge. "Or do we all smell like food this week instead of tasting like it?"

"You smell pie," Ned said but did sniff his shoulder to make sure. "Yeah, it's the pie."

"...people were tasting each other?" greeted Hurley.

This was not Liz's floor but she wanted to spend some time out of her room and so she found herself at the second floor common room, "hey," she said.

"Hey there," Ned greeted, nodding in lieu of waving. "How's it going?"

Now that Tosh knew that this school was rather...peculiar, she figured it was time to explore it. She made it as far as the common room. "Whatever you are baking smells quite good."

"Thank you," he said, looking up and smiling. "Two pies for the price of one. Or for he price of none. I'm not charging."

"I know, this guy? Is awesome. Seriously," Hurley said.

Molly waved to Tosh from her spot on the couch.

Liz waved to the girl that she didn't know, "hey," she said.

"Am I allowed to be in here? This isn't my floor." Something just smelled so wonderful and Penelope didn't want another Ho-Ho.

"Sure," Ned said, waving with a rolling pin. "You don't have to stay on your floor. No rules against that."

Susan eyed the other girl curiously. "Do you hail from the desert?" she asked, knowing that the Calormene Tarkheenas often hid their faces to shield them from the harshness of the sun.

After some exploring around town, Myn had moved on to exploring the dorms. Mostly he was just looking to get a mental map of his new living quarters, but the smell of baking did quite effectively derail his original plans. "...There's a kitchen here?" he asked, stepping into the common room and taking a moment to look around.

"I think there's one in all common rooms," Ned said. "I haven't been to the other floors."

Susan peeked in, unsure exactly what she was smelling, aside from the fact that it was certainly appealing. "Is that...pie?"

"Yes," he said and nodded. "Two of them, actually. They don't smell bad, do they?"
