5th Floor Common Room, Tuesday evening

With Liir's help, the common room was transformed into a vivid party room. Purple streamers were hung, balloons in every color were tied around, some left loose to pop or kick like some people liked to do (not her, geeze), and HAPPY BIRTHDAY INO! was everywhere.

Music was going and Amber was adding finishing touches to the gift table; little shiny curly things in purple everywhere. Hopefully Ino liked purple. While she was doing that, Liir was busy in the kitchen, getting the food in order and her mouth was watering just smelling some of what he had cooked.

Yay, party!

He shuddered and shook his head.

"I don't doubt it."

He sighed.

"It's times like these that I wish we had desserts raining on our heads again. That at least was delicious."

"Last April, as I recall. I caught a few of them to eat.

"Nice," Tony said. "Though I guess we don't need that when you're around." He grinned and looked around at the spread of food.

He rolled his eyes theatrically.

"Not really, no. I suppose it's the curse of those without much appetite but too much culinary adventurousness."

"Works out nice for those of us with the reverse problem," Tony smiled.

"Which is spoiling me horribly, considering," he admitted with a brief grin.

"What have you been up to the last few days, other than courting, er, dryness?"

"Just hanging out," Tony said. "Nothing as interesting as being a kitten."

He laughed.

"I'm tempted to try and figure out how to do it voluntarily. There are certainly days when I could stand not to talk to anyone, sleep a lot, and get petted and scritched just because."

"Ino does," he admitted. "With ribbons and all. A little grey and black kitten with green eyes."

He grinned at Tony.

"And all kittens are adorable. It's part of the trade off to being small and destructive."

He blushed, just a little, his cheeks darkening as he shrugged.

"I suppose I'm a bit over-affectionate as a kitten. Mostly because it's easier."

"Than being an affectionate human. People are... less likely to accept the same kind of things from a person as from a kitten, obviously."

"Something like that. Which isn't to say I take liberties... you know what I mean, I should hope."

"I don't when I'm not a kitten!" he insisted, looking mildly scandalized.

...which wouldn't be to say he wouldn't if he thought people wouldn't mind. Now that he'd gotten a taste for cuddling with Andrew, he was quite enamored with it. He missed it.

At this rate, he'd need to see if he could go visit Trism soon.

He looked at the spread and shook his head with a laugh.

"What were we even talking about?"

Tony shrugged, blushing slightly. "I like eating," he said. "It's something I prefer to do on a regular basis."

He leaned back and breathed out.

"Sorry I didn't say hello earlier, by the way."
