Cheerleading Exhibition; The Gym; Saturday Afternoon [ 10/25 ]

It was time for the cheerleaders to go about and do their thing in showing all the family and friends of the student body their school spirit! The gym, of course, was decorated in blue and gold, with a giant, sparkly "GO GREMLINS" banner, and there was up-tempo, bass-thumping music spilling out of the speakers as the cheerleaders got read and the audience filed in.

Teddy offered her the popcorn. "At least you have someone to mock this with!"

She reached over and took a handful. "I think Heather would've liked this more," Phyla said, "But I'll give it a try."

"You can share it with her when you get back," Teddy replied. "You know she'd just laugh."

"A lot," she agreed, "And ask after the cheerleaders..."

"Because that won't make her laugh at all," Phyla said, smiling herself.

"Of course not," Teddy replied, bumping her with his shoulder.

Tentatively, she bumped him back. "Your boyfriend seems to take it pretty seriously."

"That's Chad. He doesn't show much in the way of emotions unless you know how to look for 'em," Teddy replied.

That changed the game plan of the conversation a little. She shrugged. "He could not display any at all. Or he could turn into a housepet... I've heard things about the island."

That had her momentarily stumped.

She nodded, smiled, and let it lapse into a silence for a little bit while she watched.

"Well," Phyla said, finally, "They're limber."

"The throwing...?" Okay, that sounded a little concerning. Phyla wasn't quite giving him an alarmed look, but she didn't look particularly convinced.
