Second floor common room, Wednesday afternoon

With the Food Network on for noise and inspiration, Brooke was cooking.

No, seriously. There was food in the process of being prepared, and she was all cute in her apron and everything. The food would probably even be edible when it was all done. She'd sort of taken up the whole kitchen with stuff that needed to go into the oven, things that needed to get saran wrapped and put in the fridge, and cookies that were already done and waiting to be eaten and shared because she wasn't very good with self-control. Look, you had to get the important stuff done first.

Brooke watched him closely, mainly trying to see if he was going to try and spit it out or something without her noticing.

Sure it had been a while, but once you managed to suck down Orihime Inoue's cooking without flinching, you could eat anything.

And they weren't really all that bad. He ate the rest of the cookie in just a few short bites, and then wiped his hands on his pants.

"Onion?" he asked.

"Right there," she said, pointing to where she'd placed them on the counter. "Thanks so much."
