Second floor common room, Wednesday afternoon

With the Food Network on for noise and inspiration, Brooke was cooking.

No, seriously. There was food in the process of being prepared, and she was all cute in her apron and everything. The food would probably even be edible when it was all done. She'd sort of taken up the whole kitchen with stuff that needed to go into the oven, things that needed to get saran wrapped and put in the fridge, and cookies that were already done and waiting to be eaten and shared because she wasn't very good with self-control. Look, you had to get the important stuff done first.

[LJ sucks and I'm not getting notifications, but dammit I'm home early and I am posting. Open!]

Chuck had been looking for a common room where food was being made and, lucky him, he only had to go down one flight of stairs to find it. He was surprised to see Brooke with the apron on, however.

"I didn't know you could cook," he said, not bothering to hide his surprise. "You don't seem like the type."

"Bravo," he said, offering her a little golf clap. "Are you getting a head start on the holiday or is this stuff for now?"

He had priorities, yes.

Chad had a little bit before he was going to head into town to bring Teddy dinner, so he and Prince Oscar Pedro were wandering around, and neither of them could resist following their noses a little.

"This stuff for tomorrow?"

[identity profile] senor-chado.livejournal.com 2008-11-26 10:00 pm (UTC)(link)
"Sure," Chad said, never one to refuse free food, especially not from a sibling. Even if they were terrible, he'd still eat another just to make Brooke feel good. "Need any help with anything else?"

Robin was trying very hard to not get into the Christmas spirit until after Thanksgiving. It wasn't easy as the Christmas music kept wanting to get stuck in his head.

If only there were more thanksgiving songs.

"Hi!" Robin waved to Brooke when he came in. "Do you need any help?"

[identity profile] robinthefrog.livejournal.com 2008-11-26 10:58 pm (UTC)(link)
"As in taste test it or try making some?" he asked. He was good with either.

Jess didn't have anywhere else to be for the holidays - well, he could go home, but that would involve meeting his mother's boyfriend, so it wasn't really an option at all - and he was trying not to let himself get too annoyed about that by not just moping in his room. The smell of food cooking drew him into the common room, and he smirked when he saw who was doing the cooking.

"Aren't you getting busy a day early?" he asked.

[identity profile] noboynextdoor.livejournal.com 2008-11-26 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh, that's right, the cheerleading thing is tomorrow," Jess said. "I saw your signs. Those were very creative."

[identity profile] robinthefrog.livejournal.com 2008-11-26 10:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Robin waved to the boy he didn't know. "Hi!"

[identity profile] noboynextdoor.livejournal.com 2008-11-26 11:51 pm (UTC)(link)
With his experience with Jar Jar not that far behind him, Jess was still a little wary of things that talked that looked like they probably shouldn't. "Uh. Hi," he said.

[identity profile] likes-chicken.livejournal.com 2008-11-26 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Hurley wandered in.

"So, we all the poor suckers who don't get to go home?" he asked.

[identity profile] likes-chicken.livejournal.com 2008-11-26 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
"Dude, the one I saw the posters for?" Hurley said. "I'm totally going."

[identity profile] robinthefrog.livejournal.com 2008-11-26 11:35 pm (UTC)(link)
"I maybe could have, but it seems kinda silly for just a day or two."

[identity profile] likes-chicken.livejournal.com 2008-11-26 11:55 pm (UTC)(link)
"Family's never silly, dude," Hurley said.

[identity profile] wanna-be-lucas.livejournal.com 2008-11-26 11:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Lucas blinked. "What? No smoke alarms? Wait, you're that girl who looks sorta like Brooke, right?"

[identity profile] wanna-be-lucas.livejournal.com 2008-11-26 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)
"It's not Thanksgiving if no one sets something on fire," Lucas said. Granted, in Tree Hill the fire didn't have to happen in the kitchen.

[identity profile] robinthefrog.livejournal.com 2008-11-26 11:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Robin waved to Lucas. He didn't remember if they'd met or not.

Ben wandered into the common room and gave Brooke a smile.

"Hi, person who isn't related to me."
