Second Floor Common Room, Wednesday Evening

Firekeeper and Blind Seer wandered in to the common room at the usual time for Darkest Night, only to find... reruns. Bah.

Oh well. Just because she'd seen this episode before wasn't going to stop her from watching it again.

"Yeah, most of a year." Dinah frowned, then perked up a little. "Summer should be fun, though. I've heard the workshops are even easier than the regular classes. And something about living in cabins?"

"Cabin? What is?" Her experiences with human dwellings consisted essentially of tents and castles.

"Um, much littler buildings? Out in the woods, probably. Or maybe near to the beach," Dinah said, trying to gesture 'littler', but not having any real idea how little was involved, ending up waving uncertainly. "Which'd be kind of a nice change, after the dorms."

Firekeeper nodded in understanding. "I hope is in woods," she admitted. Of course, if that were the case, the likelihood of her actually sleeping inside the cabins was pretty low.

Dinah grinned and scritched Blind Seer behind the ears. "I'd guess so, yeah. That's all I've heard, though. They might be nice, they might be really rickety. I guess we'll find out."

Firekeeper shrugged. "I spend much time sleeping on ground with only Blind Seer for warmth. I no need much. Cannot say for anyone other, though."

"I can deal with temperature," Dinah said, thinking, "As long as there's someplace to get away from bugs, sometimes. I hate mosquitoes. Otherwise, I'll deal." She grinned. "And I survived a whole term here! Woo!"

"Still is Movie final," Firekeeper pointed out with a grin. "You think you survive that too?"

"Oh, god, yes... I think so? Maybe?" Dinah made a face. "Why couldn't it be the Phys Ed Final? Francine told me that was rappelling down a building, I would have aced that!"

"That was fun, yes!" Firekeeper grinned even wider at the memory. "Maybe you should be taking that class next time it happen." Unless she had something against gym uniforms, of course.

They made her look like a giant stork. But that wasn't enough to not make her consider it. "Maybe? It'd be one guaranteed fun class, at least. You liked it, right?"

She was kind of partial to anything that didn't involve sitting and listening for extended periods of time (television was so exempt from this dislike), even if said running around happened mostly indoors.

"Did! Was nice to have class that was not just sitting."

"Totally understand that," Dinah agreed. Considering how antsy she got after one hour, it was a miracle she didn't ditch more often. "I hope we sign up for some of the same workshops this summer. It was a blast hanging out on an ice berg with you guys."

"I no signed up for classes, since am not knowing how to write," Firekeeper admitted. "Was just telled where I should be going." It was how she ended up taking a class on magical transformations because she'd never in a million years actually pick something like that.

Dinah frowned. "Do you want to? I mean. Someone could help you with that, me or Francine or Joan..."

"Francine try, a little," Firekeeper admitted with a shrug. "Am thinking is probably good thing to know? But maybe I cannot be learning."

"I seriously doubt that's true." Dinah debated a second, then used her real name, saying, "Look, Firekeeper, half the stuff you've done in your life is way harder for most people than this. It'll probably just take time. I'm up for it if you need extra help."

"I-" she started to point out that her grasp of human speech was still less than complete (only she'd planned to use fewer words, due to aforementioned less than complete-ness), but then stopped and shook her head. "Thank you."

"Welcome," Dinah said, then looked over at Blind Seer. "But hey, for this round of classes, someone could just help you pick out what you want, you know? So you get what you want for summer."

"This is good plan," Firekeeper agreed, nodding at Dinah.
