Firekeeper and Blind Seer wandered in to the common room at the usual time for Darkest Night, only to find... reruns. Bah.

Oh well. Just because she'd seen this episode before wasn't going to stop her from watching it again.

"I don't think it was a fair test," Tahiri said, waving a handful of popcorn towards herself, and floating one piece right into her mouth with a grin. "Just because it doesn't weigh nearly as much as a person. Also, it was taller than I am."

Dinah did the same thing, once she was over her coughing fit. "So, you can save the ... diminutive people?" She grinned. "And none of them full of hot air?"

"Hey!" The next popcorn kernel went flying at Dinah, instead of getting eaten.

Dinah tried to catch it with her TK, then had to guide it to her hand, giggling. "What were you saving the big balloon person from, anyway? And can I say how cool 'vaped' is as a word? Vaped. Vaaaaaaped."

"Everyone thinks words from my galaxy are so interesting," Tahiri said bemusedly, shaking her head. "Why is that?"

Rolling her eyes, she added, "It was supposed to be a damsel in distress. Please."

Tahiri had issues figuring out why a woman being in trouble was such a cliche, but then again, look at the women she'd grown up around.

"They're almost like English, but they're not," was Dinah's opinion. "Like Shakespeare. Only sideways." She grinned, then snickered. "Okay, that says a lot about your teacher." She blinked, then added hastily, "Not in a freaky way! I've never met him!"

"It was a really . . . thermal class," Tahiri said, only further proving Dinah's point about her galaxy's colloquialisms. "I'm pretty sure Captain Hammer spent a lot of time sucking exhaust fumes or something. But now I'm all done with finals, and I can't believe I've been here two terms already."

Dinah snickered at that image, then threw a celebratory handful of popcorn in the air. "Then yay! You can come to the party tomorrow. Early celebration. And you got here the same time as Blysse?" She cocked her head. "Did you guys have an invasion last fall, like we did twice this semester?"

"Not exactly an invasion, no. Just a whole creepy week with an evil mirror island and a rival school," Tahiri said, and idly flung a hand up to make the popcorn do a midair victory dance. "And yeah, we got here the same time. Party? What -- oh, your birthday!"

"Yikes. That's longer than the zombies took," Dinah noted, thinking. "And yes! Party! Barbecue! And cake. Just fun, nothing complicated."

"As if I'd miss that, barbecue or not? It's your birthday. Celebration is definitely in order," Tahiri said. "Oh, stang, I need to get you a present between now and then!"

"No you don't," Dinah contradicted her. "I mean, I gave people barely any notice. It'd be nice, but I already got a bike from my sister, I'm good for this year, for reals." She grinned. "Don't vape out."
