Third Floor Common Room - During Lunchtime/Afternoon Classes

After her Civil War Reenactment class (and seriously, what were her parents thinking with that one?), Joan decided to make lunch in the common room. Nothing fancy, just some sandwiches and cut up fruit, but she had spent the weekend hiding from the insanity of the new folks and figured it was time to get out and meet people.

Rather than put the TV on and deal with trashy talk shows or soap operas, Joan had the radio tuned to an 80s station and was bopping along to the music as she worked.

[open to new & old alike! sandwiches & fruit are totally moddable.]

"Good!" she said, beaming. "I met a few grumpy people on the way here, but hopefully that's just from travelling, and everyone I've met here has actually been super nice. Both my roommate and my big sibling are completely kind."

"Marco," she said, nibbling on some of the fruit. "Turtle's my roommate."

"Then I'm happy to meet a friend of Marco's! Student Council?" Maron asked interestedly, completely unaware of anything intersting in her situation. "Like, with class representatives and everything?"

"Class clean up lists?" she asked. "Or is it true that students don't have to do that here?"

"Every week, or so, it depends on the school, the class representatives--there's usually one boy, one girl, for each class--make a list of who is on cleaning duty for the week. Those who're on the list have to stay and clean the classroom, and halls and such. It's a little each day, so it doesn't take forever."

Maron gave a bit of a shrug at that. "That's going to be a little weird," she admitted. "Maybe weirder than the magic."

She laughed. "It's the routine of it that I might miss! Not the actual cleaning. Does this mean that clubs aren't mandatory too?"

"Oooooh," she said, impressed. "Is there a gymnastics club? I tried looking, but I'm not sure where I'm supposed to find out about things like that..."

"Maybe," she said, frowning slightly. "Do you know if there's a place I can practice, at least? Ms. P would just die if I didn't keep in shape."

"Thank you!" she said, brightening. "I'll have to look into them both! Can you tell me more about the cheerleading squad?"

"When's practice?" Maron asked promptly. "Are there going to be try-outs, do you know? How many people are on the team?"

"Wednesdays," she repeated. "Is it okay if people come to watch? I wouldn't want to be a bother."
