Sixth Floor | Monday | May 18

Bright and early, Fraser was back up on the sixth floor, already decked out in his snazzy hard hat. It fit his head much better than it fit his fellow supervisors.

"Good morning," he greeted those that had arrived. "As you can see, the wall is almost completely down and, luckily, there doesn't appear to be anything behind it but what the remnants of what once was the rest of the sixth floor. Before we push through, we're going to clean up the debris we've left behind when we took down the wall. There are wheelbarrows here to haul parts of the wall away. Please be careful as you do this. You're also welcome to take down the remaining parts of the wall to make our passage easier."

Fraser walked over to a long table and patted the hard hats and tool belts. "Please be safe. Wearing your equipment is mandatory. Once you're equipped, please get to work and find myself or Professor Dex if you need anything."

Stifling a yawn or two, John pushed a wheelbarrow closer to a pile of debris. Also known as crap.

He sang off-key under his breath as he worked, letting old songs keep him company.

Peter wasn't fully awake yet, but luckily you didn't need to be too awake to haul debris away.

It was a break time and therefore John was breaking.

And potentially napping with his hands on his face. No judgment.

Not wanting to wake the potential napper, Jaina set a paper bag down by him when she could. He'd said to bring food, and she occasionally wasn't a bad girlfriend after all.

Sensing movement around him, John lifted one hand to look. "Hey, special delivery?"

"Never say I don't take care of you," she smiled. It was a sandwich and a pudding cup inside. Still. Thought that counts.

He opened up the bag and pulled out the pudding cup, "Chocolate! I think I love you for that." He was easy.
solo_sword: (oh?)

"You think?" she repeated. "Maybe next time I should put two."

"Butterscotch might earn you more," he replied, holding up the sandwich. "Did you make this?"
solo_sword: (casual)

"I put things in between bread, yes," she replied. No, seriously, the good mood had to stop. It was scaring her mun.

"You made me a sandwich?" He could not love her more if she gave him a plane. John reached to feel her forehead. "Are you okay?"
solo_sword: (interested)

She might have given him a strange look. "It's not hard," she said. "I promise there's no food poisoning hiding in there."

[identity profile] missed-the-gate.livejournal.com 2009-05-19 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah, but you made me a sandwich," he repeated. "I didn't expect that." His mind was blown.
solo_sword: (understated)

"It's not a big deal. I had some time," she said, though it was said with appreciation of the fact that she was obviously missing something.

[identity profile] missed-the-gate.livejournal.com 2009-05-19 12:49 am (UTC)(link)
"Well thanks, Jaina. It's great." Even if it ended up tasting like ashes he was going to tout it as the best thing ever.
solo_sword: (pleased)

She did like that it didn't take much at all to make him happy sometimes. "Feeling sore yet?" she wondered.

"Nah, just spent the morning cleaning up a seemingly endless pile of debris," he replied. "Talk to me in a few hours."
solo_sword: (long hair)

"Sounds thrilling," she said dryly. "You're here all afternoon, too?"

"Oh it is. You can see why I've chosen it as my new calling," he teased. "I'm here till closing time."
solo_sword: (hmmm)

"I suppose I do have some time to watch the sweatiness happen," she mused.

[identity profile] missed-the-gate.livejournal.com 2009-05-19 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
"I might have to run around a little extra to get some sweat going for you," he said.

Re: Lunch [CP 05/18]

"Could you do that?" she teased. "It'd be nice."

[identity profile] missed-the-gate.livejournal.com 2009-05-19 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
"I'd hate to start anything," he replied, not meaning it at all.

"I wouldn't worry. I have control," Jaina nodded. Also his room was just one floor down.

Re: Lunch [CP 05/18]

[identity profile] missed-the-gate.livejournal.com 2009-05-19 02:08 am (UTC)(link)
"You're control is great," he agreed. "Given you brought me a sandwich and pudding...I'll just say I'm good whenever, forever." Because that was different from before somehow.
solo_sword: (okay)

Re: Lunch [CP 05/18]

[personal profile] solo_sword 2009-05-19 02:12 am (UTC)(link)
"Imagine if I'd added Cheetos," Jaina said. "Does that mean you weren't before?"

Re: Lunch [CP 05/18]

[identity profile] missed-the-gate.livejournal.com 2009-05-19 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
"No, don't bring the Cheetos into it," he warned. "I would hate to have to change my pants before getting back to work."
solo_sword: (laughing)

Re: Lunch [CP 05/18]

[personal profile] solo_sword 2009-05-19 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
It wasn't Jaina's fault she burst out laughing at that.

"Classy," she said anyway.

Re: Lunch [CP 05/18]

[identity profile] missed-the-gate.livejournal.com 2009-05-19 02:29 am (UTC)(link)
"Your fault," he said, raising his hands in surrender. "I am at your mercy."

"You don't want to be talking like this to me when you have to spend the afternoon working," she told him. "It'd be a very long afternoon."

Re: Lunch [CP 05/18]

[identity profile] missed-the-gate.livejournal.com 2009-05-19 10:57 am (UTC)(link)
"I don't? I mean, uh, no, it would be terribly wrong to talk to you like that." No clue, this one.
solo_sword: (conversating)

Re: Lunch [CP 05/18]

[personal profile] solo_sword 2009-05-19 12:24 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well, if you did get me all hot and bothered, we'd have to wait till you were done," she pointed out. Not that she minded waiting, but 'okay' wasn't really teasing now, was it?

Re: Lunch [CP 05/18]

[identity profile] missed-the-gate.livejournal.com 2009-05-19 12:31 pm (UTC)(link)
"You know," he had a brain sometimes, "my room's not far from here..."
solo_sword: (chin lift)

Re: Lunch [CP 05/18]

[personal profile] solo_sword 2009-05-19 12:49 pm (UTC)(link)
"Just a floor away," she nodded, realizing that the fact that this had occurred to both of them meant they were just bad.

Re: Lunch [CP 05/18]

[identity profile] missed-the-gate.livejournal.com 2009-05-19 12:54 pm (UTC)(link)
"Would it be wrong to suggest the fifth floor as a place for you to get some work done this afternoon?" And then stay for a while.
solo_sword: (little smile)

Re: Lunch [CP 05/18]

"No, I think that could be arranged,"she said with a little smile.

They were awful. He didn't care.

"Good," John smiled proudly at his plan for a proper sandwich thank you. "I'll remember to stop down there after."

Re: Afternoon [CP 05/18]

[identity profile] missed-the-gate.livejournal.com 2009-05-18 12:32 pm (UTC)(link)
It was the debris that would never end. It just accumulated and accumulated my friend.

John didn't know why he was doing this work and TAing for Skywalker. Stupidity was likely the culprit.

As promised, Jaina did show up to watch. Within about ten seconds she was twitching to help, but it was really pretty.
