LBJ Campfire, Monday Evening

Chuck didn't know who started the campfire outside his cabin but he was glad that someone did. He was capable of working a lighter but that whole Boy Scout-y wood and newspaper in the optimal fire starting position thing was lost on him. So when people did the hard stuff for him he was appreciative. Silently appreciative. He wasn't about to be thanking people out loud.

Now he was sitting back against a log with a joint in his hand and was debating going back inside the cabin to grab marshmallows. Maybe after the munchies set in.

"My full name's Rosemarie. At least I can shorten it," she said, laughing. "Hannibal's just cruel."

"Some people have been known to shorten Hannibal," he said and winced. "It's not pretty. Rosemarie's pretty. Very classic sounding."

"And I am obviously very classic," she teased, making a face. "You don't like being called 'Hanny'? What's your middle name then?"

"You could be classic, I don't know," he teased back before grimacing. "And no, I don't know Hanny. It sounds like a dog's name. As for my middle name, it's Christopher la la making it up since canon gave me nothing. So, I go from terrible to boring."

"Stick with terrible," she advised. "It's a lot more interesting."

"Yeah, I tend to make up stories about my parents being high on the good stuff when people ask," he admitted. "That or they hated me and wanted to saddle me with the worst possible name in the world."

"If those are made up, what's the real story then?" she asked flirtatiously.

"The real story on my name?" he asked, smiling. "I think it's a family name from way back when. A warrior or something. Suits me, don't you think?"

"I don't know yet," she replied. "I'd have to see you in action." Rose grinned and added. "It's better than Christopher anyway."

"Well, I can't go around beating things up for no good reason," he said. "I'd spend my life in detention and that would just kill my social life. And I'm more a lover not a fighter."

Rose couldn't help laughing. "And two minutes ago you said how you fit a warrior's name so well. Or maybe that was the 'warrior of looooove'?"

"Hey, I am a warrior when I need to be," he said, sliding his hands behind his head and relaxing. "I just don't make it a career. Warrior of love, that sounds good. Conquering hearts left and right with my unbelievably good looks."

"And then having to beat them off with a stick?" she teased. "I can see how this works for you."

"I've honed it into an art," he joked, smiling at her. "As long as people can get past my name, then it's smooth sailing."

"Yes, 'Hanny' could be a turn off," Rose agreed sweetly. "But it's good you've learned how to work with it."

"So could Rosie," he countered just as sweetly. "Very cutesy name there."

She narrowed her eyes. "See, but I could pull Rosie off."

"I see no proof of that," he said, paraphrasing her words from earlier.

And now Rose leaned back, mimicking his posture with her hands behind her head. "Why should I show it to you?"

"Because," he said, letting his grin widen some, "until you do, I don't think you can."

"You'll have to eat those words," Rose said arrogantly.

"Words are just words," he pointed out, waving a hand in the air. "Actions are better. I don't think I'll be eating anything."

"Than what actions would you accept?" she asked, wrinkling her nose at him.

"You're just making me do all the work," he teased. "Wouldn't telling you make it easier for you to prove it?"

"Exactly," Rose agreed complacently. "Just the way I like it."
