Third Floor Common Room - Saturday Morning

Claire was still in an excellent mood after her conversation with Jon last night. She decided to pass on the trip into the city and instead headed for the common room to make breakfast in an effort to meet some new people.

Anyone making their way past the room would be welcome to enjoy some pancakes with blueberry topping, strawberry topping and/or whipped cream. Because, yes, Claire was kind of a dork and went the red, white and blue route.

There was an appropriate holiday movie on the television.

"I wasn't snoozing though," he insisted as he yanked his hand away. "I went for a run and then got distracted by phone calls."

"I'll need to run tomorrow after eating all these pancakes," Claire said. "Who were you talking to?"

She also grabbed a plate and offered it to him cause she was nice like that.

Jon very happily took the plate and grinned. "Setting up a birthday present for Daniel. And then making sure that it was going to get to him sometime this month, preferably within a few days of the day."

"Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeees." Jon shrugged. "He tends to schedule himself off world for the weeks around his birthday."

"Some funky, four-level chess set that I saw in a magazine. It's geeky and brainy and should keep him entertained."

Jon actually looked a bit scared of that idea. "Daniel is vicious with paybacks. Not to mention that he'd up dragging the poor girl into some intellectual conversation that would make her give up her career to become an archaeologist or something."
