Third Floor Common Room - Saturday Morning

Claire was still in an excellent mood after her conversation with Jon last night. She decided to pass on the trip into the city and instead headed for the common room to make breakfast in an effort to meet some new people.

Anyone making their way past the room would be welcome to enjoy some pancakes with blueberry topping, strawberry topping and/or whipped cream. Because, yes, Claire was kind of a dork and went the red, white and blue route.

There was an appropriate holiday movie on the television.

Elle shuffled down the hall from her room, wearing her robe and holding Bruiser. Someone somewhere was making breakfast. She took a few steps into the big room and looked towards the kitchen area at the girl there.

"Hi," she said, cheerfully enough, if minus the perky. "Do we make our own breakfast here?"

"You can if you want to," Claire said. "But I'm making pancakes for whoever wants them."

Someone else with a dog. Liir actually smiled a little as he saw Bruiser over the edge of his notebook and delivered something that was half salute, half wave to the dog and the girl both.

Hurley was on his way to work when he smelled the pancakes.

This did make him stop in to snag some.

"Dude, awesome," he said.

Claire grinned. "Hey, Hurley," she said. "Help yourself to some pancakes."

Liir hadn't seen Hurley in what seemed like ages, so the notebook was put down as he tipped his head to Claire.

"I think someone's trying to outcook me," he joked mildly, "should I be worried?"

Arthur was generally not one to be around the common room when the television was on, but he had smelled food. So far, no one had poisoned him with common room food yet, and with any luck, that streak would keep up.

"Morning. What's that you're eating?"

He wasn't going to pass comment on the colouring.

"They're pancakes," Claire said. "And I have strawberry, blueberry or whipped topping. Or you use all three to make them patriotic."

"Oh, hey... dude," Hurley said, never actually having encountered Arthur before.

Liir was back again, this time without the dog. He just had his notebook, which he scribbled in furiously even as he walked. He almost managed to walk right into the couch that way but swerved at the last second before flopping onto the cushion.

"G'morning," he said absently, to whoever might be there. If no one was there, well, he'd greet the other couch.

"Morning, Liir," Claire said. "Would you like some pancakes?"

Yakko ran into the common room and suddenly stopped.

"It's that time again!" After a brief pause, he continued, as if addressing someone who wasn't there. "No, it's time to learn the day's lesson! And to find out what it is, we turn to... The Wheel of Morality!" Yakko motioned towards the door, where a large wheel with 'The Wheel of Morality' written on it in huge letters drifted in.

"Wheel of Morality, turn, turn, turn," Yakko recited as he spun the wheel. "Tell us the lesson that we should learn." As the spinning wheel slowed down, it landed on the Lose a Turn. "Awwwwwww," Yakko said, disappointed. He shrugged, darted out of the room, and the wheel disappeared out into the hallway a moment later.

Claire... kind of stared. She was going to offer Yakko pancakes, but... apparently he wasn't interested.

Elle practically jumped out of her slippers. "Omigod!"

A rather tired-looking Kate had walked down the hall to come check out the common room. She stopped at the door, unsure whether she wanted to come in when there were other people there. It was too early for her to meet people.

However, her stomach made the decision for her, as it reacted to the smell of the pancakes by grumbling. Yes, breakfast was a powerful incentive. Kate stepped into the room.

"Morning," came a near-chirp from one of the couches. He wasn't cheerful in the mornings, or much at all, but the sound was quick and birdlike.

"Hi," Elle said, smiling at her. Poor girl looked tired and Elle figured she must have had a rough night.

"Hi there," Claire said, offering a smile. "Are you hungry?"

Elle didn't know what to do. It was a holiday, but she didn't care.

So she was roaming the common rooms.

Which was how she found the food. "Ooh, that smells good."

"Elle! Hi!" There was a cheerful wave from the perky one.

Chloe didn't know what possessed her to venture out of her room and follow the sounds of people. But once she got closer to the common room, she smelled the scent of food cooking. Her stomach growled and she stepped into the common room.

Of course, she hadn't realized there were that many people in here and she paused, thinking about turning and heading out.

Too bad Claire spotted her. "Hi, there," she greeted, waving her spatula. "Come in and have some pancakes."

Bobby Drake was not, by nature, a morning person. However, there were exactly two things that could have him up and about rather early: evil mutant attacks, and an empty stomach.

It was the latter that had woken him today, and he'd spent some time wandering the floors until coming back down to his original one and noticing-

"Oh my god breakfast!" he exclaimed. "Yes!"

Claire grinned at the enthusiasm and made a mental note to keep this guy, whoever he was, away from Dinah.

"Help yourself," she said. "There's plenty."

Yuffie smelled food, and that was the scent she followed out of her room that morning. She stopped by the counter and looked at the pancakes and toppings and tried to look all pathetic and hungry (not a huge stretch for her) in her boxers and tank top.

"Are you giving the food away?"

"It's for anyone who wants it, yeah," Claire said. "Help yourself."

Jon had gotten distracted by phone calls between the morning run and getting food, but he finally found the place where the food was.

"Mmmmm, pancakes."

"Sorry, none left for you," Claire joked.

George had spent most of the morning and a good deal of last night, trying to memorise as much of the town and dorms as possible. He wasn't about to relax until he had escape routes set in his head, and even if he didn't expect to be needing them, it would just be stupid to ignore the idea completely.

But now there was the smell of something unfamiliar but really good wafting through the halls, and he followed his nose up to the third floor and poked his head into the Common Room.

"Somethin' smells wonderful up here," he said, glancing and taking note of all assembled.

"Pancakes!" Bobby informed him, around a mouthful of same.

Leto had considered avoiding company today, as yesterday had offered more of it than he actually needed. However, as he passed by the common room, he caught the scent of pancakes. He entered, noticing Claire.

"Are you making breakfast for everyone?" he asked, giving his little sibling - who seemed to manage quite well on her own - a smile.

"Yeah, I skipped the picnic yesterday, so I figured it was a good way to meet some new people," Claire said. "Want some?"
