Third Floor Common Room - Saturday Morning

Claire was still in an excellent mood after her conversation with Jon last night. She decided to pass on the trip into the city and instead headed for the common room to make breakfast in an effort to meet some new people.

Anyone making their way past the room would be welcome to enjoy some pancakes with blueberry topping, strawberry topping and/or whipped cream. Because, yes, Claire was kind of a dork and went the red, white and blue route.

There was an appropriate holiday movie on the television.

[oooooopen common room!]

Elle shuffled down the hall from her room, wearing her robe and holding Bruiser. Someone somewhere was making breakfast. She took a few steps into the big room and looked towards the kitchen area at the girl there.

"Hi," she said, cheerfully enough, if minus the perky. "Do we make our own breakfast here?"

"Aw, that's really sweet of you," she said, smiling and walking in further. "I'm Elle Woods and this is Bruiser Woods. We're just down the hall in room 326."

Hurley was on his way to work when he smelled the pancakes.

This did make him stop in to snag some.

"Dude, awesome," he said.

Arthur was generally not one to be around the common room when the television was on, but he had smelled food. So far, no one had poisoned him with common room food yet, and with any luck, that streak would keep up.

"Morning. What's that you're eating?"

He wasn't going to pass comment on the colouring.

Liir was back again, this time without the dog. He just had his notebook, which he scribbled in furiously even as he walked. He almost managed to walk right into the couch that way but swerved at the last second before flopping onto the cushion.

"G'morning," he said absently, to whoever might be there. If no one was there, well, he'd greet the other couch.

"I was gonna," Hurley said with a chuckle. "But you probably knew that."

"Patriotic?"

He was just going to be over there, examining the food. "Ah. Of course. Your national colours."

Those were the shades of their flag. Right.

He looked up at the greeting to give Claire a faint smile. It was about all he was up to at the moment.

"If you wouldn't mind. No lapwarmer this morning so I should be able to retrieve them myself. Thank you."

"I don't have time for a movie," Hurley admitted. "Kinda got to get to work soon."

He put his notebook down for the moment to head for the counter.

"Thank you, Claire. And... yes, I suppose everything is fine. I'm just, well, newly single once again. It wasn't anything I was really ready for, no matter the fact that I had some warning in a way."

He pulled out a plate and a fork before hunting around for the honey; he preferred it to maple syrup usually.

"You would be the first," Arthur assured her, taking one of the pancakes with all due... lack of ceremony. "It slipped my mind. Independence from England, right?"

Arthur had not spent a lot of time reading about the time, but military history, he knew front to back.

"It wasn't so much a breakup as a 'move on'," he said with a slight wince, the kind one uses when another person strikes the needle on the head a little too well.

"It wasn't exactly going to work with her in Minnesota and myself here for another two years at the very least. She didn't need that. And I've... survived worse."

He pulled a few pancakes onto his plate.

"How've you been? I trust you enjoyed the picnic?"

Elle put Bruiser on the floor and he pranced along at her feet, looking adorable and tiny. "Thanks, Claire. It's nice to meet you. You're not new are you? Knowing where everything is alreay. Oooh, Freedom Pancakes."
