It had taken Alex all of ten minutes to pack and then unpack. Unpacking, in this instance, meant kicking his bag under his bed and leaving it there. Once that was done, he wandered down to the main campfire, a place he'd frequented during the previous trip to the cabins. Claiming a spot on the first night seemed like the right thing to do so he settled down, legs stretched out in front of him.

The clouds looked a little threatening but rain would only bother him if he lit a cigarette and had it go out. He'd just have to light another or something. Not like it hadn't happened before. For now, he'd take the warm, cloudy night and his last bit of relaxation before classes started again.

Unwrapping the package of Swiss Cake Rolls he'd discovered while unpacking in his alcove, Griff nearly dropped the chocolate treat when he realized it was Karev at the campfire he had wandered to.

"Seems I can't get away from you, Alex."

"I'm magnetic that way," Alex said, looking up at Griff's approach. "Dinner?"

"What are those?" Kyle asked, nodding at the package. He asked a lot of questions.

Hurley held out a s'more for Griff.

"Payback," he said.

Rose had showered after Fight Club and finally looked at her schedule of classes for the next term.

Which accounted for her mood as she came over to the campfire, bag of marshmallows as promised to Kyle in her hand.

"Some idiot signed me up for a first period class tomorrow," she bitched, sitting down near the fire.

Oh look, Alex was just going to laugh at that bitching. Never mind that he had a class early in the morning too.

"Ouch," Griff said, trying to sympathize. "At least it's at 9am instead of 8am."

When Kyle first spotted the fire, he wanted to yell to them to put it out, but he saw other fires around the place and reminded himself that there were no H-Ks here, no drones with infra-red that would track them down. So instead of yelling, he walked over.

"Can I share your fire?"

"Pretty sure I couldn't stop you if I wanted to," Alex said after a moment to size up the new arrival. "So, no, go right ahead. Free fire."

"Only if you say please," Rose teased, giving Kyle a warm smile.

Hurley held out a s'more for the new guy. "Hey dude. Welcome to Fandom High and stuff."

There were newbies and Blair had yet to meet them. She decided time by the main campfire would work for getting that started. She looked around to see if anyone might be worth her time.

And it was someone else he didn't know. And a hot someone he didn't know at that.

Since she didn't seem to be one for vocal greetings, Alex said, "Window shopping?"

Kyle didn't say hello exactly. He just watched, since he'd never really seen anyone look so prim and proper like her. And if he got caught looking, well, he'd give a little wave.

The girl looked like a royal who was trying to consider if she could deign to sit with those her family couldn't use.

"If it's taking you that long to decide, it's probably not worth it," Rose said sweetly.

Hurley waved at the girl he'd seen around.

"Hey, you want a s'more?" he asked.

Serena had seen who her roommate was and groaned. This would either help them finally work things out, or... Or they'd be miserable, the next couple of weeks.

It didn't hurt to start out trying. "Someone showed me how to make s'mores last time. Want one?"

Was anyone allowed at the main campfire? It looked like it. People were sitting around and talking like ... talking things.

Tara took a seat at the very edge of the group with a slight smile and a little wave to everyone. "Hey."

"Hey," Alex returned, giving her a brief wave with the hand not holding his cigarette. This campfire was like flypaper with the attracting people. "New student?"

Hurley came to the campfire and sat down with his ever-needed bag of s'mores fixings.

"Hey everybody," he said. "Plenty for, like, everyone and stuff."

Elle was in a good mood after Fight Club and so, after showering, she figured she'd hang out at the main campfire. Besides, like she was really going to pass up the chance to be around people?

"Hey," Alex said, getting his greeting down to a fine science. "How's it going?"

The campfire was going, and Serena wanted to use her hard won S'mores expertise. She had chocolate, marshmallows and graham crackers all set up, looking around for an appropriate marshmallow roasting stick.

"What are you looking for?" Kyle asked.

There was a campfire. There were people. Elle needed to be where they were at.

"Can someone tell me why we're in cabins again?" She didn't particularly agree and camping just wasn't her thing. Her poor heels. Her pink Prada pedal pushers were in jeopardy of being ruined for life. At least her sequined tank was super shiny which made her mood okay, she guessed.

"They're spraying the dorms for lice." Maybe she'd believe him.

Sam wasn't hiding from Chuck. That would be a silly idea. He was just trying to put distance between them now that cabin life had put them close together, and mingling at the main campfire seemed like a good idea. He probably wouldn't be able to use anyone as a shield, but he hadn't met all the new people yet, so the possibility of someone the same height as him was still out there.

Once he'd dumped all his stuff, and his roommate's stuff... and his roommate... in his alcove, Bobby headed out to see who else was around. Kate apparently had had enough of being social, at least for today, as she'd elected to remain behind.

"Hey people," he said, flopping down in a free seat around the fire.
