Third Floor Common Room, Wednesday Evening

For the second night in a row, Bobby had set up a common room with his Go-Between Guy DVDs. This time, however, he'd also ordered a bunch of Chinese food- enough to share if anyone came by. He might not be able to cook, but at least he could feed people this way. It was only fair considering the number of times he'd had others' cooking.

Peyton had to admit it was the smell of chinese food that dragged her out of her room. "Hey Bobby."

"Peyton!" Bobby waved. "We've got food and good TV. Come and have some!"

"The food I can smell," Peyton said with a smile. "What's on TV."

"Go-Between Guy," Bobby explained. "Which is excellent plot, awesome dialogue, and, okay, some really cool explosions too."

Peyton nodded. "Sounds nice and distracting, thanks."

"I'm very good at distracting," Bobby said. "...Though usually that's not a good thing."

"Uh, distracting in a not so good way?" Peyton asked curiously.

"I talk a lot," Bobby said with a shrug. "Which doesn't work out so great when the people around you are trying to concentrate on... homework or whatever."

"I listen to my music really loud," Peyton admitted. "Not so great for most people either."

Jennifer waved. "Hey," she said.

"Hi, Jennifer," Peyton said with a smile. "How are you?"

"Good," she said. "Thankfully escaped all of whatever happened to everyone last week."

"Yeah, me too," Peyton said gratefully. "Just, you know, worried about everyone else."

"Yeah," Jennifer said. "Sounds like it wasn't much fun for them."

Peyton shook her head. "Not at all. Scary, really."

Jennifer nodded. "Not sure how we help people, though."

"I don't know," Peyton said quietly. "Just kind of... treat them normally, I guess, and be there if they need to talk or be distracted or whatever."

"Hi Peyton! You should join us. The food Bobby got is really good," said Harper, waving.

"Hey, Harper," Peyton said with a smile. "How's it going?"

"I'm good," said Harper. Except for a stint in the library, she'd been almost untouched by the events of the past week.

"Glad to hear it," Peyton said. "I think everyone will be glad when we get a little time between us and that."

"At least everyone got back okay," said Harper. "From what I heard, it sounded like it was pretty scary. I have no idea what I'd do if I ran across a vampire."

"Hope I had garlic and a sharpened stake, I guess," Peyton said. "And run like hell."

"I wonder if you could get away with wearing garlic around your neck and then wearing a coat or scarf over it," mused Harper. "That way, the vampire wouldn't know what you had waiting for them until they try to bite."

"I don't think I'd want to wait till they got that close," Peyton admitted.
