First Floor Lobby: Friday Morning

To those transformed "girls" waking up this morning, Layla had arranged a special gift for them. In the first floor lobby (as well as in the common rooms) an arrangement of women's underwear and sports bras in various colors and sizes were laid out on display.

Along with a sign indicating that they were free to take for any male students who were temporarily transformed.

As for Layla herself she was sitting on one of the couches in the lobby to watch the parade of girls leaving the dorms as she perused her new copy of Tiger Beat.

Layla chuckled. "Still it's probably best to be on good terms with the guy owning the best bar in town."

"Especially when you have to drink as much as I do to feel it," Karla agreed with a grin.

"You know there are people in the world who would kill to have your tolerance," Layla pointed out.

Karla smirked. "And even more who don't believe I have my tolerance," she said. "I don't look like much, I know." Even after two weeks of nigh-obsessive feeding by a bevy of over-protective males, Karla was still a skinny little thing.

"Appearances are always deceiving," Layla smirked. "So I don't buy into them."

"It helps that you 'know stuff,' too, doesn't it?" Karla asked, cocking her head to the side. "Just what is it that you know, anyway? Besides 'stuff'?"

Layla gave a little shrug. "Are you familiar with chaos theory?"

Karla blinked, then grinned. "Nope. But I bet Uncle Saetan would say I was involved somehow."

"Not exactly," Layla smirked. "There's a story about how a butterfly in a rain forest flapped it's wings which caused a chain of events to occur which resulted in a hurricaine hitting the gulf coast. I'm the type of girl who can see those kinds of things happening. For the most part."

Blink. Blink blink. "You can see butterflies?" Karla asked dubiously.

That...wasn't particularly impressive.

"More like I am the butterfly," Layla snickered. "Metaphorically."

"...You cause hurricanes?"

"Things to happen."

"Oh..." Karla said, finally getting it.

Please forgive her. It's been a long week. Hell, all of August has been very long. And today just wasn't helping.

There was nothing to forgive. Layla was being fairly obtuse.

She gave Karla another pat on the back.

"Bad week?"

Karla gave Layla a wan grin. "Well, it all started back one Monday when I got a really weird feeling," she said. "And it hadn't really slowed down yet."

"Weird feelings usually mean nothing good," Layla agreed.

"Yeah, it led to the battle with the vampires," Karla agreed dryly. "It's been one very long month."

"Perhaps what you need is a little break from it all," Layla said tilting her head at Karla.

"Well, I went home and got into into a politically-motivated custody battle involving my best friend," Karla said dryly. "And Dinah went to Canada to fight demons. I don't know if a break's actually the thing." She shot Layla a look. "Or is this a warning about me turning into some kind of animal or something?"

"Actually I was thinking more of a trip to the spa for a massage followed by a mani-pedi," Layla said with a smirk. "Unless you want to be a kitten."

"A spa?" Karla asked. "Mani-pedi? I understand massages, but what are these other things?"

Though if they were anything like massaged, Karla was inclined to like them.

[Karla will be turning into an Arcerian kitten next Thursday, so use that knowledge as you'd like]

"It's where you sit in a chair and they make your fingernails and toenails pretty," Layla explained "While the workers there bring you fresh fruit to snack on. You can get a facial mask, your hair done. Make yourself feel pretty. At least for a day or so."

[We'll just use Layla's last statement as foreshadowing. Dun. Dun. Dun.]

Karla looked at her nails. She'd worn nail-paint before but it hadn't been anything like what Layla was describing. "Is there a place where we can spa and mani-pedi and eat fruit?"

"There's a salon and spa in town," Layla replied with a smirk. "Sound like a good time for you?"
