Third Floor Common Room - LUAU

Joan and Kate had worked all afternoon to transform the common room into a tropical paradise.

Inside the door, a small table held flower leis for all of the party-goers. There were garlands hanging around the room, tabletop torches on most of the flat surfaces, and paper lanterns adding festive mood lighting.

Hawaiian music played in the background if anyone felt the urge to hula.

"It's okay, really," Kate said. "It was coming, anyway. My stress levels were still through the roof because of the weekend, and I didn't even realize it. It's no one's fault."

She wondered whether she should add that the shock she got from Dinah was nothing compared to what she went through with Leto right after.

"That happens, yeah," Dinah said, relieved. And hey, her own version of handling it was to run away to Canada and fight demons at the first chance she had. "I'm glad you're doing better, though. And Bobby woke up screaming?" Dinah grinned. "Didn't handle it as well as some people, hunh?"

Dinah would totally get Leto's ability to shock being something that could send someone into a tailspin. And how.

"I think Bobby adjusted to it fine throughout the day, but the morning was just all about him hiding under the covers," Kate chuckled. "I think he went to the mirror and then screamed, but I'm not sure because as I said, I woke up to it."

Dinah was giggling so hard she nearly inhaled her lei.

"Oh. Oh, oh, poor guy. I hope I handle it better, if I get changed into a guy, but I guess it was a big shock. Although you'd think it wouldn't be as weird as being a penguin."

"That's what I would've thought, but no. He was a lot more chilled when he turned into a penguin," Kate grinned.

"I just hope we don't get turned, but of course we will."

"Yeaah, I mean, Tony? It happened to him too yesterday, and he's in Vancouver. We just have to be ready for it." Dinah paused. "Hmm. Maybe I should have some boxer shorts on hand, what do you think?"

"It would probably be for the best," Kate nodded. "If we can't fight it, then we should at least be prepared."

"Exactly! So, boxers, and a really big T-shirt, and ... hope that someone will be willing to loan me jeans," Dinah decided, grinning. "Since there's no way to know how tall or short I'd be as a guy." She snickered. "You know you've adjusted to Fandom when you plan your wardrobe for random transformations."

"Co-ed rooming is good for things like that," Kate remarked with a grin. "Bobby was pretty glad that I was there to give him some girl clothes, so he'd probably lend some of his stuff to me, if I turn into a boy of the right size."

"That was cool of him. But he is a pretty neat guy." Dinah grinned. "I could probably hit up Priestly for something, after the bra-shopping. Arthur would just growl and me, and I'm not wearing pants as tight as his anyway. Girl or guy."

"I wanted to make Arthur wear one of these," Kate gestured at her grass skirt. "But he didn't want to." Understatement.

Dinah snorted. "Shock." She wasn't going to mock him to Kate, but the roll of her eyes probably said it all. "Arthur's not what you call non-traditional."

"I kind of picked up on that," Kate smirked. "He was being boring, but eh, what can you do? A good hostess doesn't force people into doing stuff."

Dinah toasted her with her punch, grinning. "Good call. He just would've gotten crankier. I'll wear one, even if it makes me look like a dork, though."
