The Roof: Saturday Evening

Happy-shiny-upbeat music was rolling off the roof this morning and down through the dorms. Layla had taken the time to string up some old Christmas lights that she had handwavily found at Things Reborn.

Food and drink Moddable of course was spread out on a table.

And of course the entire roof was already decorated in flowers, glitter and streamers.

Layla was already out in the middle of the roof bouncing around to the music and having a grand old time of it.

Clearly the island felt there was need for a party. Layla was just rolling around with it.

[Open to all of course. No OCD. Let the world end dammit.]

"Yeah, it's a bit quieter here than in your galaxy," Layla nodded. "But I'm betting you don't get syrup raining from the sky."

"No. Or turning into a girl or any of that stuff," Zayne said. "But people with special powers and aliens? I can manage that."

"It certainly makes the transition to Fandom a bit easier," Layla agreed. "I'd had to have been normal and showing up here."

"It almost seems worse for some of the less 'normal' students," Zayne said. "I think my little sibling took my explanation of Fandom better than my roommate, and my roommate's from a world with magic."

"Hmm. True. Though perhaps your roommate is just a tad inflexible about his world and dimension."

"Probably," Zayne said. "My last roommate was, too, but she came around eventually. So I have hope for Mat."

"You'd be surprised what a couple weeks and a gremlin bite can do to bring people around," Layla chuckled.

"The gremlin bite's probably going to give people completely different problems with the place, of course," Zayne said.

"Unless they're the one watching the people bitten," Layla replied. "And then it's a whole new ball of wax."

"I've only seen one gremlin bite victim," Zayne said, thinking of the horrors of Ben Skywalker thinking he was a sexy cheerleader. Zayne had done a good job not letting Ben out into the hall, but that had been uncomfortable. "It wasn't one of the funnier experiences I've heard about."

Yes it was. Zayne would just never admit it.

"I guess that would depend on who got bitten," Layla chuckled.

"If it was a professor during class, that would probably be a lot of fun," Zayne mused.
