The Pool, Saturday afternoon
Dinah opened the door to the pool and held it for Jaime, smiling. "And here we are. Pretty easy to find." She hit the lights, and grinned as the pool lit up, dropping her towel and cover-up onto a nearby chair, then kicked off her flip-flops. "High dive, low dive, lanes. Pretty much a standard pool. All rumors of sharks have yet to be anything more than stories.

"It is," Karla said, standing up to Leda could see that the water only came up to her shoulders. "Plenty deep enough for you to learn in, but shallow enough that you don't have to worry."

Leda gasped a bit when she slid into the cool water. One hand stayed on the edge.
"Okay. What do I do first Bert?"

Buoyed by the water, her feet left the bottom and she felt weightless.

"Sorry. I'll try to give you more of a chance to rescue me next time." she joked.

That was about enough with the underwater stuff, at least for today. "Let's practice some kicking," she decided. "Hold onto the wall of the pool," well, Leda had that bit down, "and stretch your body out. Then kick in the water, okay?"

"Okay." She tentatively leaned forward, still holding onto the wall. Then, stretching her legs out behind her, and awkwardly arching her back to keep her head above water.
